'This isn't nothing new': John Wall rails against make-up calls and missed fouls

During the Washington Wizards' 102-92 loss, an obvious imbalance at the foul line favored the Utah Jazz — 32 free throw attempts to 13 — and Wall ...

Wizards players actually believe that the refs cost them the game...hilarious. With a straight face, Markieff Morris actually said “We had a bad game. They had a bad game. We came out with the loss. We’re the ones that’s reaping the consequences. It’s one of those games.”

LOL. Yup, Jazz had a "bad game"...
If not for the refs grabbing several rebounds for us, we wouldn't have had a 52-27 rebounding advantage?
If not for the refs displaying their shooting abilities, the Jazz wouldn't have shot 46% from 3?
If not for the refs helping us with their long arms, Jazz wouldn't have had 11 blocks?

Well, they are in DC...media and their "fake news" out to get the President, and now the "fake officiating" out to get the Wizards? Hmmm...

We were the better team. But the Wiz did get kind of hosed by the refs.

Yeah, it sucked how every time the Wizards committed a foul the refs just went ahead and called a foul, like it was their job or something.

We committed plenty of fouls that weren't called. Including a ridiculous blatant push off by Favors which led to them getting a flagrant.

I don't see your line of thinking pop up much when we are the team getting hosed.

There were honestly missed calls on both sides. Gobert walked on a play where the Wiz were called for a foul. Hayward has his toe on the line for a 3 that was credited as a 3. The push off, etc. But the Wiz were fouling a lot more than the Jazz because they didn't know what else to do to stop us, and they got called more often than not.

I wasnt watching most of the game super closely to really grade the officiating (was cooking while watching the game, which is very tough when you are chopping), but the first quarter they missed some early calls that would have given Hayward FTs IMO.

Definitely not a well refereed game. But I'd say overall we benefited more than them. The only reason I bring it up at all is because if the teams were swapped this forum would be whining like crazy. So this thread just seems weird to me.

What about when Hill was coming around a screen at the 3 point line elbow, some Wizard player grabbed his arm the ball went straight up in the air, no call, Jazz turnover.
Or when JJ cleanly poked the ball away from behind against John Wall and they called it foul...

And pretty much everytime Hayward takes the ball strong to the hoop he get's fouled probably 90% of the time but only 25% of the time a foul is actually called. I'm used to it, I don't bother getting heated over it anymore...

Yep, definitely missed calls on both ends. At 2:02 in the 4th?, the ball clearly went off of a wiz player, but they got the ball back.

As the two minute report last year showed how the Jazz truly got hosed, and reports showed that they other 46 minutes were not better, I have no sympathy for any other team.

Jeez...give us (Jazzfanzers) some credit here...I can't remember a game when we were getting blown out by 24 points and we started blaming refs for our demise...Can you?
For Morris (and the rest of the Wizards players) to gloss over the fact that our defense completely shut them down and ruined their shiny streak of home wins and games scoring over 100 pts and blame it all on the refs is pretty funny/delusional. I never thought I say that a teams fanbase is more rational than the actual players, but I just found the exception.

Dude we blame the refs all the time.

“It’s frustrating,” Wall said. “You keep attacking the basket. No-name guys getting calls on the other end, that’s getting little contact.

Had nothing to do with out rebounding your sorry *** team by 20.

Learn to read guy...yeah we complain about refs in close games we have a chance at winning, but I specifically mentioned games where we're getting blown out.

For the most part, I think people here are smart enough to discern the difference between:
1. A loss due to the Jazz being outclassed/overmatched by a superior opponent
2. A loss due to the Jazz playing like garbage.
3. A loss due to the referees screwing the Jazz over royally.

Go look at the LA Clippers game thread from a couple of weeks ago...and ask yourself if Jazzfanz were "whining like crazy" about the refs?

Complaining is contagious it started with Wall . I like that the jazz put pressure on the refs because of their physical play. I think it's expected for fans to complain like bitches. We've all done it to some degree.
