What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

If Zach Collins declare this year we gonna miss out on him for sure.

they could trade up for him.. I'd consider moving Favors for him tbh. I think he can play PF and C, He's not WCS but he can shoot and is skilled and athletic and has good timing and he's active... He'd cause all sorts of problems next to Rudy..

I'm not sold on Collins for the Jazz. I don't see him becoming a top 10 center, and he's not really a 4.

he can play 4 and start no problem imo.. Prezmek is the Robin to his B
rook Lopez.

(u thought I was gonna say batman right?):p

Fits right between Dirty Harry Barnes and Nerlens Noel.

Did u see that perfectly lofted high-low big-to-big pass he threw in crunch time??

Ideally u have a 6'9" athletic SF/PF type such as Mo Harkless on the roster for any team who tries to really go small and run ya off the court. On this roster thats Hayward..

Collins is athletic, active, skilled and 7', playing next to Rudy would give him a real nice chance to roam about. He could handle all the backup C duties and can shoot 3's..

His skillset is a serious match here.. I'd be shocked if the FO wasn;t smitten by what he can bring to the table.

You think he would be a better fit for this team than Markannen?

Collins should declare but I don't know if he will. DX has him listed in the lottery of their 2018 mock.

I see Harry Giles declared for the draft and is definitely in. He could be a very good replacement for Derrick Favors if the Jazz decide to trade him or something.

People who follow the younger prospects... thoughts on Nico Mannion? I don't follow these things, but I just happened upon this longform SI article about him and the recruiting business. His father, Pace Mannion, played for the Jazz.

https://www.si.com/longform/2017/nico-mannion-high-school-basketball/

He is probably gonna be awesome, he's got more talent than Luke Kennard and Tyler Dorsey. He might be a starter and a lottery pick. It's not so much based on pedigree or even upside with his skill level, he's already rather advanced.

There actually seems to be an uptick in Gingers on the way to the league..

That kid could 'play up' many years in high-level competition, which is pretty much one of the best compliments I could give.

His handle is very sharp and he's 6'5", he's gonna project as a better scorer than Lonzo Ball probably.

U gimmie that kid and Jalen Suggs (who's also sharp as they come and a year younger) and u can straight run college teams right out of the building with proper frontcourts, and thats no lie, those 2 in-particular are some true outliers.

Harry Giles is not like Derrick Favors. Utah would only need to take a flier on Giles, they needed to be much more sure with Favors..

It's like comparing some shiny raw rare metal in favors to something thats much more tarnished at the same stage in Giles.

They're different positionally, stylistically, skillsets are very different. Harry Giles was like handling the ball on the break and then doing spin moves into the lane and then dropping off nice passes when he drew all the defenders, back when he was young, Favors was more like a DeAndre Jordan type of figure thats been working hard at improving his skill level..

Bradley might be a nice pick up with the GSW pick

Yup. He'd be way better value than GSW got with their pick last year in Damien Jones from Vandy...

I doubt he'd be in this draft to fall that far tho..

He'd bring back some of the orebounding that was lost from Kanter. said it before I'll say it again he's the closest thing to Enes in this draft (and is longer and projects as a better defender imo.

@BarstoolBDevils
BREAKING: Sources are confirming former 5 star recruit Marques Bolden is transferring from Duke. No information on destination yet.

Bradley seems to be able to actually play defense. Bradley doesn't have lanterns range though

What about Motley from Baylor? I reckon the Jazz could use a blue collar, lunch pail and hard hat guy at the four, be even better if he had a bit of nasty about him too.

I'd be fine with Motley. John Collins is the closest thing to Kanter, imo.

Nice... not even sure it's correct because I haven't paid a ton of attention but cross racial comparison also cross nationality comparison. Great work.
