What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

He doesn't seem to having any red flag weaknesses. That's pretty rare to find in a 24th pick. If we draft him, would basically be hoping he turns into the player Lyles was supposed to be.

one weakness that concerns me, not sure if id call it a red flag, is his FT shooting. seems like he should be better than 67% FTs.

Leaf has a ton of weaknesses. He's got a small frame. Not sure how much weight he can put on and he doesn't have good lateral quickness to make up for it.

Can he defend or rebound at a nba level?

It's not like we're talking top-5 or top-10 or even top-20. Of course players in our range are going to have weaknesses. I think Leaf brings a lot to the table to balance them out.

Ehh, much better players projected at 24 and 30 IMO. I'd rather take Kuzma in the 2nd round than Leaf in the first.

Here is Leaf next to Ike. Looks about 220-225 which is what UCLA lists him at. Yeah he'll get some abuse in the post but he's not a total bean pole.

Leaf reminds me of David Lee (at Florida), both physically and in terms of offensive skill set. I don't think he's an ideal athlete or ideal shooter for the modern game, tbh.
