Is it better that the Jazz keep both picks?

Irving and Knight spell Harris for me. Two fast guards that aren't that great.

Besides, we can find players like Irving and Knight in nearly every draft in the mid first round. Just look @ guys like Ty Lawson and Tony Parker. We can easily find us a PG in next years draft.

This year, we should focus on a wing and/or a big man.

Tell me Thriller did you have a opinion when Stockton was drafted, and if so was it right. How about Hayward did you have him rated as a player we can find in the top nine of any draft? You must be an amazing judge of players to say the least, for you to tell us we can get a Knight or Irving in any draft. Tell me how high a pick we will need to get us a point guard as good as those two, and since you are so good at knowing the future, tell me when will the Jazz pick as low as 6th in the draft again. Again thanks.

I don't have all the answers.

Yet, I believe finding good big men and wings is much harder than finding good point guards. Nearly every draft features good point guards. From Drose to guys like Ty Lawson.

While you maintain the position that we need to draft a point in the lottery, I maintain the position that Harris is good enough for now. Next year we should be in the lottery too. We can also find good point guards even without being in the lottery.

As long as we're in the lottery for now, lets swing for the fences. Go after a potential big man or wing.

Agreed.... Now if knight just happens to fall in the jazz lap at # 6, and they take him I'm fine with that, but I don't want them to go out of their way and wast assets to get a point this year.

The guys I think the jazz should be looking at at #6 is biyombo, kanter, vesely, and knight, he can play two positions. There doesn't seem to be any pass first pointgaurds in this draft, perhaps we can get one next year.

Yeah, 2012 is supposed to have more guards. This year is a big man crop.

I'm not in love with Knight. Not at pick 6. Not really even at pick 12. He looks good but not great. Meh.
Irving on the other hand looks like he will be an elite PG. But again, elite PGs don't usually equal a championships. Derek Fisher has how many rings?
I mean, if the Jazz got a top 2 pick then I'm totally flummoxed on who to pick because it'll be hard to pass on Irving. My only hesitation on Dwill2 is whether or not he really can play the 3.

Can't wait to hear where the Jazz are picking. But if the Jazz get the top pick right now I can't decide between Irving, Dwill2, Kanter, and Bismack. Yep all 4 of those guys.

Great idea! However, we would need more than 12 different player threads since some people here love talking about players that aren't even on the Jazz anymore or aren't even NBA players (yet). That would make the Boozer and Jimmer fans happy.

And what about the 1-2 scrubs that comprise the "inactive" list. Certainly a guy like Elson desverves a thread. And he did "play" occasionally. So 1 thread for each player on the roster (that makes 13-15), one thread for Boler, one for Harpring, and a few miscellabneous ones. Yep, we should be able to keep everything on 1 page. Perfect!

I agree. Outside of Irving, there may not be any starting-quality PG's in the draft. So the Jazz absolutely do NOT want to reach and take a PG at #12. Well, they might take Jimmer, but that would be for his scoring and and to sell more tickets. not because they think he'll be a starting PG in 2-3 years.

The GS pick is only protected to #7 next season. And Utah's pick (the one we owe Minnesota) is top-16 protected, IINM. So, yes, the Jazz will probably have a couple of lottery picks next year. I see them going wing or big if they don;t move into the top-3. I also think KOC will look to trade the #12, next year's picks, maybe even in a package w/ CJ for veterans. Hayward, Favors, Evans and the #6 are enough young guys.

You didn't watch Irving play this year did you? Have you noticed how people compare him to Chris Paul? Do you find Chris Paul in the middle first round of a draft? **** man, we're talking about a guy who's gonna go at least top 3, and probably #1 overall, and you're saying we can find a player like him in the middle of the first round. I don't even know how to respond to such an asinine comment.
