Rubio traded to Jazz

Rumors are that the deal is done with Teague that is why they traded Rubio now. Teague is set to sign a 3 year deal at midnight.
 
I'm a huge George Hill fan, HUGE, but oh how surprisingly I hope he doesn't even win 30 games next season.

We loose some 3 point shooting but gain more assists, a true point guard and for a nice price. Leaves us in a much better place than paying a max and regretting it for the next decade.

I hope this enables us to get a Blake Griffen or Gallinari power forward now.

WTF? Where is the money for Griffen and Gallinari coming from?

It's definitely a possibility that fans really have no access too. I wonder if Hill ****ed it up permanently trying to play on it throughout the year.
 
I don't understand the doubters of this trade...
It's been stated many times that one of Hayward's concerns with the Jazz was getting the point guard situation resolved. Hill just fired his agent, it'll probably be weeks before anything can get resolved with a Hill contract. If the Jazz did not make the move for Rubio, this is how their meeting with Hayward would go:

Jazz: "Hey Gordon, we don't know what the situation is with George Hill right now but you're just going to have to trust us that we will be able to re-sign him. Is that okay with you?"
Hayward: "But what if you can't get a deal done with Hill? What's the backup plan?"
Jazz: "Ummmm, ummmm, Dante Exum?"
Hayward: "OK. Thanks for meeting with me, my agent will get back to you in about 15 minutes with my decision...bye."
 
I was told tonight that a lot of the trade for Rubio is because Hayward was very upset with Hill missing so many games last year and the Jazz wanted to show Hayward that they have a backup plan in case Hill goes down again this next year.

#1 sign Hayward.
#2 sign Hill up to a certain number.

Rubio was 100% to make Hayward happy. Hill is still an option at the right price. Now, Exum, Favors, and Hood could all be traded IF Hayward resigns.
