NBA Free Agency Moves in General (related to the Jazz, but not just moves made by the Jazz)

Shot selection when you're the only player worth a **** means next to nothing to me. It needs to be improved, but it's hardly worse than Burks currently.

You can wait, but it's pretty obvious already. The defensive difference alone is enough to play him over Burks.
Ya, I will wait. Rookies usually take a little time

I think it will be a bit of a struggle, but it will get much better when he isn't the guy. I think he will kill it off of spot ups and can provide some shot creation... even if it isn't the best shots initially.

We just don't know much about the nba utah jazz version of mitchell. I'm gonna wait for more than zero games to come to a conclusion.

Ok, fine, but if he looks good in the first preseason game you'll need to get on the bandwagon. Sigh. Training camp is so far away right now. :'(

I hope so. We will see.

No, not at all. He never played anything close to a 3 this year in Boston. Maybe earlier in his career he was, but he isnt anymore.

Boston is a team of 4/5's who are neither true 4's or 5's and mostly play outside in besides Amir Johnson.

He never played without Johnson, KO, Horford, or Zeller on the court. He played most of the time at 4 but shared the floor with Crowder a ton. I think to be effective he needs to play at the 4 but I think he could give spot minutes at the 3 in a pinch. He never played as a 5 so he is absolutely closer to a 3 than a 5.

Way closer to a 5 than a 3.

I'm not sure if capspace would be enough but I was wondering if a trade like this is viable?

UTA gets Mo Harkless
POR gets Boris Diaw(non-guaranteed until the 15th)

Why for UTA - Utah gets a 3-4 combo to fill in some of the minutes Hayward left on the table.
Why for POR - they cut 10M off their luxury tax tab. Get closer to getting out of the tax altogether.

Thoughts?

Liked him for a while. I think they'd want something back. The trade works with diaw btw. I think we'd have to send a second round pick at least.

On Locked on Jazz today, David said to keep an eye on Diaw's non-guaranteed deal and Wizards are in tax hell. He floated Makieff Morris as a name to watch. Locke is a bit of a tool, but he floated George Hill, Boris Diaw, and Ricky Rubio before all those trades happened.

Other teams have been waiving non guaranteed deals instead of trading them.

Is the market for these contracts dry?

The best the Jazz might be able to do is trade Diaw for a guy like Ed Davis and get a 2nd round pick back.

That gives the Jazz a backup center on a 1 year deal.

Not sure yet... don't think anyone wants space yet but they may want out of the luxury tax midseason.

If we keep Favs I don't want to get another center. Rely on Bradley for any leftover minutes or if there are injuries.
