What's new

What happened to Derrick Favors at the age of 25 and can he bounce back?

Will Favors have the same problems Nerlens Noel is having in getting a decent contract? Favors has a little more range, but Noel can guard 5 positions, and is younger.
Maybe he sticks with the Jazz for about 15m a year.

It depends on how well he plays this upcoming year. He will be a UFA so he will have an easier time signing a contract.

I doubt Favors gets 15 million a year though. I bet he is closer to 10 million.

How many teams need a starting center? How many teams are going to view Favors as a PF?

This past season he was weighed in a 265 at training camp. IDK about the prior season, that stuff is hard to find.

IDK how anyone can outright deny that Favors was in the 270+ range given his massive frame and how heavy he was entering the NBA Draft Combine despite looking pretty thin (especially compared to how thicc he is now). Given the knee and back issues he probably had trouble losing weight which only compounded his problems due to the 270 lb injury threshold.

And yet he only weighed 265 going into last season.

Favors/Gobert were +4.8 per 48 in their time on court together two years ago. As a team, we were just +1.8 per game.

Favors weighed in at 265 lbs this past year but it's impossible to believe he was ever 270+

This makes complete sense. We should give you the benefit of the doubt that Favors was at least 270 pounds last season (you're douchebag insistence that he was that high implies you believe he was not just over but fairly far over--275-280ish--because it's oh so obvious to you) when in fact his playing weight has never been listed at 270 or higher. Right. But my logic is flawed.

Go kick rocks.

Nerlins Noel cannot "defend five positions." That is just silly.

Any freakin' idea what he's doing here?

I'm smarter than the average dude when it comes to exercises and can't for the life of me definitively figure out what he's doing. I feel like my eyes see his right leg strapped by the ankle with a contraption to that weight rack that's got 500+ pounds on it, and that he's using that one stabilized right leg to perhaps pull himself (with more weight--135 lbs--on him to make it more difficult) toward the rack, though I don't see any sort of wheels or anything on the bench on which he lies and I'm not sure how he'd pull himself toward the rack, or push back. This would help with his hammies, glutes and lower back, perhaps because he did have lower back issues though from my recollection, that was years ago and not an issue this most recent season.

Anyway, any idea what the **** he's doing?
