What about Biyombo's height (or lack thereof). I thought I saw him listed at something like 6'7" without shoes. Is that concerning at all?
Would a fair comparison of Hamilton be Young (from the Grizz)? A tough athletic wing that does a lot really good but nothing great?
Personally, I think Knight is probably going to be gone by #6. And the Jazz really need to improve that interior defense and outside shooting. Perhaps they go big at 6? I think if Knight is gone, the Jazz almost have to go big.
I'm not sure how you missed the 5-page discussion in one thread or the two or three other threads about this, but Biyombo is 6' 9" in shoes with a
7' 7" wingspan and weighs 243 at 19 years old on top of playing overseas (the culture of weight/strength-training just isn't there).
His standing reach is 9' 3". For all intents and purposes, his body is somewhere between Favors, Elton Brand, and Ben Wallace (I haven't found measurements for Ben Wallace besides eyeball measurements, but I can tell you that standing reach beats Brand and Favors, and is a shade under Dwight Howard). His weight comes in at what Favors was at when he went to the draft combine as well.
Further still, he's insanely athletic and his style of play is through and through big. He started playing in the euroleague (the highest competition of basketball outside of the NBA) mid-season as a stop-gap and ended up leading the league in blocked shots and one of the league leaders in rebound rate and rate of free throws attempted. The last game he played was the Nike Hoops Summit, where he notched the first triple double in the games' history with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks. His power, speed, length, and motor were a nightmare for team USA, which was all of the standout 2012 high school players, including projected #1 2012 pick Anthony Davis (who projects to be a C, maybe a PF).
