If nothing happens, he didn't say anything bad about the franchise.. so I don't see negative reprocussions
His wanting to come off the bench or not is inconsequential. I dont think any young NBA player wants to be a bench player and would prefer situations in which they start.
The problem is, like you said, how much do you really want to pay a non-starter when you have dreams of probably signing a stretch 4 or a max player in 2019? It's probably just unwise to invest too much money into a likely 6th man (unless you move Mitchell to PG and Hood becomes the starting 2-guard). It's an unfortunate money allocation issue. I
I disagree, what if nothing happens? Who's his agent btw?
I dont know maybe the Jazz see Rubio/Exum as a better pg option at this point over Donovan and Donovan as a better 2 than Hood. What about a Mitchell/Hood backcourt though?
Yeh, its possible. It's also possible he gets an Evan Fournier contract and you suddenly cant trade him without taking back a ****** contract because half the NBA is ****** contracts now.I think there's a possibility you can still get him on a team-friendly deal that could still allow you to pursue a max in 2019.
Fournier isnt worth his salary and he coudlnt be a starter on the Jazz (unless they plan on moving Mitchell to the PG, which there is no indication of, at least during the span of Fournier's contract).
He's a better defender. He's a better rim protector. I'm not sure if he's a better overall player because he hasn't had a chance to play as much. I think he might be a better fit on this team and in this system. Favs is definitely more skilled offensively. If I had to choose one guy to be my backup 5 only I'd go with Udoh all day. But Favs can also play the 4.Udoh, is not better than Favors. Not at all.
Deciding on your basketball team's construct is like finishing a term paper. Most people wait til the last moment. Deciding on Hood is like turning your paper in a week early. Trading Hood and deciding on Rubio in 2019 gives you an extra week of procrastination. What about a Mitchell/Hood backcourt though?
