If we beat them we hold the tiebreaker, so winning out puts us at 49 wins. They have 48 today, so they would have to win 2 games of those 3 to finish in front: @Hou @SA @Den. With Lillard out.

Told differently:
Portland @Hou (L) @SA (L) @Den (W): 49W
Utah LAC (W) @LA (W) GS (W): 48W
Last game of the season: Utah @ Portland, winner takes #3

Same thing if we lose 1 of the next 3 games but Portland loses @Denver too.

Only because we weren't healthy. If Gobert never went down we would be the 3 seed right now by a comfortable margin. Blazers would be 4 whether Butler was healthy for the Wolves or not. Spurs would be better than the Wolves if both teams were full strength. The Wolves were only top 4 because of other teams suffering major injuries. I'd be fine if we ended up playing Minnesota in the 1st round. They can't play defense and we are in their heads. We just smashed them in Minnesota. And the last time we played them in Utah KAT and Teague both got tossed because we got under their skin. They are talented but they aren't mentally tough.

Wolves @ Nuggets

If the bolded teams win Jazz will still be in 4th and only 2 games out of 3rd.

Time to put SAS a full game back tomorrow night. San Antonio is only 650 feet above sea level. They suck on the road this year and Utah can gas them at home. Goid first round match, although Im still hoping fir Minny. #teamelevated

*Edit oh snap, it's Thirsty Thursday! Love when I get a day wrong on the winning end of a workweek. Add in the playoff drama and this is as good as a Friday at 5 p.m.

Tonight's games are so super huge.
Even the third seed is in play.
Tbh, I would love it if the Spurs missed out altogether. But playing them wouldn't worry me.

It’s amazing how Kuzma has become their go to scorer. Really sucks that the Jazz didn’t spend more to go up and get him. Having two dynamic offensive rookies to pick up the scoring slack would have been extraordinary.
 
Honestly I prefer the 4th seed to the 3rd. I would rather face Houston in the second then a healthy warriors. I might prefer us to rest a game or two and if we can keep the 4th rather than push for 3rd.

But 3rd seed would be cool.

I'll be very very happy with home court though.

Pretty good point. I agree that I would rather play Houston than a healthy warriors team.
