NBA SUMMER LEAGUE 2018

One criticism of Bradley. Doesn’t look to finish with any strength. Wonder why?

Allen needs to learn how to get into the defensive stance quick. He got caught off-foot there twice.

Seemed a step too slow on defense and switches.

Yeah, not to overreact but I think it goes way beyond a step slow. I found his defense alarmingly bad. Stuck on many picks. Many rotations were very poor. Seemed lost. Not consistently aware of both the ball and his cover. Sometimes got out of athletic position and upright and got beat. Closeouts were consistently bad and some were flat out lazy.

His defensive intensity was below NBA level and way way way below Jazz level.

For a guy with a seemingly high offensive IQ, I don't think he has learned the other side of the game. I'm hoping this was fatigue related as opposed to effort.

Smart guy, I hope he can change a gear here and focus on defensive improvement (unlike others like Kanter and Lyles, who gave lip service to Defense but only cared about their numbers.

Just summer league, small sample size, yadda yadda yadda. I hope I'm wrong but I see potentially large defensive development gaps.

I guess allen will play over burks as mitchell’s back up?

A lot of those can be fixed at least.

Bradley’s ceiling might be Jarron Collins. Late first round picks are always a gamble, I just don’t see him fitting in well to today’s game.

Yeah he has the physical tools. But bad habits are hard to break. I was further disheartened by the poster who said he watched all his games at Duke and this game was consistent to his normal defense. But, to reiterate, I am fully aware that I am completely overreacting.

I full summer of Gobert riding his *** will fix a lot of that.

I have been looking for a comp and Collins is not bad. I think bradley is longer but both were vertically challenged and played center below the rim. And by the way, I watched many of the Stars games last year so this is not based on just summer league observations. You just want to shout -- "dunk the freaking ball" and he lays it up, toes 4 inches off the court. Explosiveness is not there.

Ive watched about 8 or 9 plays total of Bradley in his career and I feel confident enough to say that dude sucks.

I'll happily eat my words if Im wrong, but he looks like such a waste of time to develop, let alone even watch play. Im not sure what the Jazz saw in him.

If I were a GM my rule of thumb when drafting would be start with athleticism. They better have some because whats the point if they dont? There is a strong possibility that they will suck if they arent athletic. Ya, some, very few, players make it with limited athleticism. But no one is ever elite without a good amount of it. And if Im drafting Im hoping for elite every time.
