Derrick Favors Extravaganza!

You are right. Pretty dumb of me to get sucked into an arguement from someone abviously trolling..... It is just hard to resist calling someone on thier BS sometimes. I should know better and I am now done with this thread.

Here's a nice assortment I found of Favors' offensive moves from his game in San Antonio. Not going against elite individual defenders and a big difference from doing something once to doing it consistently, but shows a nice jump hook, and you can see he's devleoping some footwork on his face-up game stepping off the left block.

I might get a lot of back lash for this but I honestly think Favors is more agile than Dwight Howard. Howard is more athletic for sure. Maybe I am using the wrong word but it seems Favors has more lateral movement than Howard. Howard's ability seems to be more up and down. Favors seems to be able to get around people better. He has a softer touch than Howard also. Favors looks like he could develop into a All-star.
He has a lot of moves and if he keeps working on them and gets that outside shot consistent. He will be an All-star every year. He is not as raw as Howard was also. I honestly think Favors has a better offensive skill set than Howard. He just needs experience and confidence.
He seems to be more like Amare than Howard in my opinion. But he seems to be more patient than Amare. But a better rebounder and defender than Amare. Which is very surprising at his age. I have high hopes for this kid.

I think Hayward is a poor man's Ginolbli. His style of play is very similar.

I really hope we don't draft a PG with the 3rd pick. Only options are Walker and Knight and both of them are shoot first point guards. KOC will make a huge mistake by doing that. It will hinder the development of Hayward and Favors if we do that.

Will Favors ever be able to consistently hit and open 15-18 footer? That to me determines whether he eventually ends up an all-star. He's got all the other tools.

Agreed fully. I think he will because he has a soft touch. Most guys don't have that. But it for sure depends on that. Other wise he will be a 15 and 10 guy without that outside shot.
