Would be really nice if burks and mitchell can play tonight to spell some of those tired dudes.
 
Jazz could have used burks last night. Hopefully he can play tonight.

We should have kept Jerekbo and let Favors walk. I know that's unpopular, but it would have been a wise move.
 
We're 4-4 and people are acting like we're 4-14.

15 games in last season we were 6-10....

Snyder will adjust and we'll play better. Have faith in your team.

I would have kept Jerekbo at $4 million instead of re-signing Favors at $17. We wouldn't have had the money for a big free agent, but we could have done some dealing with so much room under the luxury and expiring contracts of Burks and Thabo (if we didn't just let Thabo walk too).

Within a month, we'll be starting Crowder at PF and we'll be paying Favors starter money to be a backup C. And more than likely, we will just let Favors walk in the summer (I think we lack the guts to trade him). It's just bad business to get emotional and attached to guys who simply do not fit the rest of the starters.

The Jazz signed him to a two year non-guaranteed deal. In what world is that some kind of bad business emotional attachment? Favors won us a playoff game last year. He won us a playoff series the year before that. He has value. Shut your damn mouth. We arent going to scapegoat Favorrs and act like we should have kept Jerebko.

I'm so glad you are attached to a player who shows up 33% of the time. Yes, he has helped us win games. However, he doesn't bring it every night AND HE DOES NOT FIT NEXT TO GOBERT. Any moron, even you, can see that. You keep praying that he's going to develop some 3pt game but he never has and never will.

$17 million for Favors was a lifetime achievement deal. Sure, we didn't have the space to spend it elsewhere so I understand it. However, I wouldn't have done it. We had a few guys playing the best basketball of their careers to end last year (Ingles, Rubio, Gobert, etc.) and just thought we had enough to make a run. I have faith that we can turn it around and play better, but I have zero faith in contending for a title with this current roster.

So no, I won't shut my damn mouth. Favors isn't the reason we are losing. It's not his fault. However, we can do better with the rotation and could have done the same thing he's doing with Jonas Jerekbo.

Favors will likely be key in a playoff series again this year like he has been the last two.
 
And again, Favors contract with it's non-guaranteed 2nd year is a 10x the trade chip that Jerebko at 4 million.

All these crazy fake trade Lopo is about to come up with would probably be impossible without Favors number to make salaries match. Lopo should worship Favors because if we just had Jerebko it would be much harder for him to get off on his trade fetish.

Okay, I will give you that Favors has had 3 great games over the last 2 playoffs. So in 11 games of the 2017 playoffs and the 11 games of the 2018 playoffs, Favors had 3 great games. 3 clutch games which helped us win. That's awesome and I'm grateful for those games.

However, he is not an impact player in the other 19 games. Sure, he does an average job but he did a job that could be done by Crowder, Jerekbo, Thabo, and now Niang. So yes, I appreciate his 3 great games, but I think we can find guys who can do the same or better on a night to night basis considering our personnel.

Let's use Jordan Bell as a comparison. He had a couple monster games for Golden State last postseason. He had a couple really good games. If Golden State lost Bell, would they really care? The same could be said for Javale McGee. He had a few monster games, but do they have to have him?

Favors is a great guy and a good player. And like many Jazz players, he is overrated by Jazz fans because he's a great guy.

You really think we are going to trade Favors? Really? Our ownership and front office have too much of a crush on him. And that's our problem. Not only are we probably not going to trade him, we'll probably pick up his ridiculous $17 million for next season. So yes, I love trade ideas, but every idea I throw out there with Favors comes with the knowledge and feeling in my gut that we don't have the balls to trade guys we overrate.

A trade is a real possibility if they get what they want. THey arernt going to do a trade just to do a trade like you want.

I never want to trade just to trade. Roster and team chemistry makes it dumb to trade just to trade. It's all about assets and maximizing those assets.

The trade involving Favors would have to be so incredibly in our favor for us to do it because the fear of upsetting the locker room. We are risk averse instead of being bold. This sentiment has been our Achilles heal for years.
 
Favors was not laterally mobile on D at all, guys blew right by. Said hes has a sore knee, but seems like a common theme.

I think you are vastly overestimating the locker room repercussions of losing Favors. He's well liked, don't get me wrong, but he's not a glue guy like Ingles or even Crowder. If the team improves from the trade the locker room will be fine.
