Would be much appreciated by us fans who don't live in Utah.
Although we already know what he's going to say...looking at a lot of prospects, we'll draft BPA, exploring all options to improve the team...yada, yada, yada.
I would love it if he called out all the fans who booed him last year. He should say, "well, I got booed a lot last year for our pick and look how it's turning out. No doubt many won't like our picks this year...and they'll be wrong again."

What did you guys get from the Interview? I think that theres going to be a trade or 2 go down involving the Jazz. "When we find something we like we go and talk to Greg and I know that were have a few more oppertunies to look into some deals this week" I think he made it sound as if, they have already talked to Greg, thats what I got from it. And I cant wait for Thursday, I just want to see waht Utah does. Where Millsap ends up, If Harris is trade, Will the Jazz pass up Jimmer?, Will the Jazz trade Bell? Memo? Draft Knight over Kanter or move the pick to Washington?

I figure he has taken all kinds of calls and has several tenative agreements in place. If Williams is available at 3 he calls team x, if Irving is available then he calls team y. Atleast to hear out their offer--that's just smart managing. I think he tipped his hand early after the draft lottery when he said something to the effect that there was probably NOT a big difference in players available from 3 to 6 this year, but at 3 he would have his choice.
My Biggest concern was him saying that they didn't think they were going to have any picks in this draft so they scouted it differently, then they ended up with 2 lottery picks. Please do your homework KOC--I don't want a Borchardt.

I think he probably meant that not much scouting was done prior to the Deron deal. Before the huge slide, you had to figure the Jazz were going to make the playoffs - and that would have mean the Jazz pick ended up in Minnesota to complete the Jefferson trade. Even at that, the comment was a bit off-the-cuff; the Jazz scouts went to numerous BYU games to look at Jimmer. I'm sure the national scouts maintained a busy schedule to look at 2nd-round talent and guys they felt might have value bringing in as undrafted FA's.
It is interesting KOC mentioned that trade opportunities have come up. For him, that's saying a TON! I agree with mellow. I think he might have some frameworks already in place with teams like Toronto, Washington - maybe even Minnesota or Cleveland. A lot of it really does depend on Cleveland taking Irving. If they don't, maybe KOC can "Kahn" Minnesota into swapping spots. Minnesota really wants veterans instead of more rookies. Kahn has backtracked a bit on Rubio becoming the immediate starter. Maybe we could package Harris and the option rights for CJ for the #2 pick? DWill and Kanter anyone? Or Knight and Kanter, with the best remaining SF at #12 (like Hamilton, Singelton, etc.).
I'm totally in to rebuilding mode. I'd love to see a starting lineup of Kanter-Favors-Hamilton-Knight-Hayward. Jazz might lose a ton of games next season, but that lineup has the potential to be very, very good in a couple of years.

He stated that even though we did not have a draft pick, they did not stop scouting at all. They kept scouting because they are always prepared for any opportunity to arise.

I totally agree with you. I am prepared for a mid teens to twenty or so win season if that means that our young guys get the time to improve in actual game situations. I would rather see the Jazz competing for a championship in 4 or so years rather than pushing for the playoffs this year and staying a perrenial playoff team.

I understand the sentiment but I I'll bet that staying a perennial playoff team is very high on the Jazz to-do list. I have no doubt they want to win a championship, but I have little faith they'd do that at the expense of sustained playoff success.
