What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

8-8 FGs, 6-6 from 3. yeah, he can play a bit.

let me ask you though, Cy, i didn't see the game, but what did you think of dosunmu of illinois? he didn't have a great game, especially from 3, but otherwise how did he look?
Not someone I really noticed. Illinois got their clocked clean.

Sounds like Givony has him as a first round guy. 6'5" frosh who had been killing it the previous 5 games.
Reminds me of Iman Shumpert, Shumpert was obviously a lil more of a raw athletic beast, 36" standing vert at the combine -- thats 2" higher than anyone in last years draft, so keep that in mind.... He's the best guard from Chicago in many years. An extremely interesting fit next to Mitchell. It'd be a double-combo guard look, it could work tho.

Dynamic offensive player, he is most excellent at playing down-hill. Has a 1st rd set of tools, and easily in this thinner field of pg's. He's a guy u look at and say he's got a chance to be a starter, there's just not that

For 6'5" he's rather slippery with the ball. Not as good of a 3pt shooter as he's shown so far this year, totally expecting a fall off, if he was a legit 40% guy ur talking lotto pick..

I actually haven't checked DX's board all year til just the other day, i thought when I put Dosunmu in the top-20 in my mock I was first, but we have them right in the same range.

He's very interesting in the sense of 'what is this kid gonna look like in a bunch of years with extra strength. He looks like he can draw a lot of FT's consistently to me...

No way do u take Lu Dort over Dosunmu. No way would Utah. Not this front office. A team that prides itself on player development will go with Ayo Dosunmu. Great name too.

As an Illini fan I can tell you about Ayo.
More of a combo guard at this point. Has skilled footwork and moves. Not a great athlete at all, more fluid but is long and good at playing the passing lanes. He needs to back to school. If drafted now he is going need to be stashed in Gleague system for a couple years. Needs to add strength as priority number one.

You take the kid from ASU over Ayo all day. He is more ready now and Ayo is a gamble until he shows he can run an offense, which I do think he eventually is capable of. Best guard out of Chicago shows how bad the talent in Chicago has been lately.

Dort stinks imo. I said that a month and a half ago when some were touting him here.

Many guys I’m on the fence about or I’ll be wrong about because most of you guys know way more about this stuff than I do but I feel very confident about Dort sucking. He’s jacked and seems to try to attack the rim, only his handle is mediocre at best, and he gets no elevation. That “move” will get blocked like crazy in the pros when he gets by someone which he rarely will since he’s not very explosive with the ball in his hands. Additionally, his shot is awkward as all hell. No way I trust that thing.

In short, he’s not a basketball player. He’s a jacked guy who plays basketball.

Okpala looks like he could be the closest comp to Paul George in this draft...at least that I've seen.

Not too much changed for me, THT and Williams are still the two guys that might be there when we pick that I'm really liking.
