Hayward's Woes

Just his personality. He wasn’t going to scream at you or yell at you. He seemed pretty logical with how he did things, as far as practices were concerned. We’re not going to run you into the ground for three hours, because you have to play this weekend, and then I also want you to be good in March, too, which I thought was pretty cool.

--Gordon Hayward on why he prefers Brad Stevens as a coach.

He thought it was "pretty cool" he wasn't going to have to work as hard.
Meanwhile, DM and Gobert love being coached into better players. And Favors re-signed knowing damn well he was going to be yelled at and made to practice for... 3 whole hours! I'm really glad things worked out the way they did. Honestly feel bad for Gordon and Robyn Hayward though. What a miserable pair of individuals.

A couple years back I got some floor seats with the meal package thing from my employer. This allowed me to walk the tunnels to get to the eating area and get beers and whatnot. I was walking through the tunnels during game time, and they were quite empty, except there was a woman pushing a stroller, looking quite miserable. As I got closer I realized it was Gordon’s wife. I literally just said “hey, how’s it going?” And she gave me this deathly, “how dare you speak to me” look and didn’t say a word. It was super weird.

That is all well and good when a real ******* doesn't decide he wants to just kind of be an ******* and commandeer the entire season with his big mouth and bad legs. Then you sure wish you had a real leader as a coach.

The Celtics are getting what they deserve and more.
