Tobias Harris wants to come to utah

Lord hammercy.
We may just have... a superteam... in Utah!?!?

Contrary to what SLC dunk says IMO if Harris comes to Utah, the Sign and trade option is the most likely that will bring him to us. I doubt we can create the required capspace otherwise. The easiest way really is for Harris to want to come to Utah specifically and go to the 76ers similar to how CP3 went to LAC and tell them - I will go to Utah, so this is your chance to get some compensation in return. This of course is all contingent on Philly striking out on other FAs they might want. Their biggest need last year was backup center. They were something like... -100 in 7 games in the minutes without Embiid on the floor. If you gave them Favors+Exum+2nd or two they might be OK with it and do the SnT...

This way we do a solid for Favors too and guarantee his contract.
Sure, buy why would Harris sit around and wait on Philly to strike out? If it happened it would have to be done early.

Philly main motivation would be insuring Harris is not in conference, but Idk if he's good enough for that to be a major factor.

Favors is a terrible fit. Exum is a terrible fit. They have no need for Bradley. 3rd team has to be involved and that just makes it even harder.

Most likely scenario is Utah trades Bradley, Exum, and a first to a bad team with cap space.

You’re in a delusion place mate, not a happy one
But forreal, I'm having a bit of fun, mate.

I think I deserve that now and then. Don't need anyone reminding me of how ****** life is in the middle of it, tbpfhwy.

If Harris really does want to come to Utah, and will sign a max contract , the only conceivable way this will happen is to move joe ...

I doubt anyone bites on a favours + exum package ...

^Doesn't have to be a Favors + Exum package. Favs can be waived. So just need a buyer for Exum. But, Atlanta has plenty of cap space and Favors is a hometown boy who would probably sell tickets. They have Trae, but Exum might be an attractive back up. I could see a trade with them.

If Harris really wants to come to Utah, I don't see him quibbling over $30M vs. $32M, so Jazz could probably keep Niang and Bradley (if his salary can't be unloaded). In either case, the difference between a minimum roster hold and their salaries is, what, $800K each? Maybe Lindsey already has a deal in place contingent upon Harris agreeing to a deal. Was Zanik tipping his hand when he said Utah might open up some roster spots?

Kudos to Dan Clayton for coming up with a different way to do the trades. Freeing up additional $ gives us hope.

So 5 great starters + Royce + a ton of roster spots to fill. Have to think vets would takenote of a lineup of Conley-Mitchell-Ingles-Harris-Gobert. That would have to be the best in the NBA, wouldn't it? Jazz could even start a vet at SF and have Ingles lead the 2nd unit. I might ask Thabo if he wants to return at the vet minimum. Same with Udoh, who could be useful. Would $4.7M attract a decent combo or SG?

If he wants to come to Utah it is to seek a title, right? So yeah, a couple million isn't going to be the deal breaker. It'll be more about selling him on the vision of a title run. That's easier to do with supporting players that can help get you there.

If we see a sudden announcement of an Exum deal, Utah is getting Harris. That said, Utah is going to have to compete with Philly on this and Brand was given carte blanche to get him back. Harris' younger brother was given a summer league contract by Philly.

Lets just say that Harris's agent comes to the Jazz and said he wants to sign with Utah what can you offer? Guaranteed type of talk if the price is right

Jazz go to Memphis and get Exum added to the package for Conley
The Jazz waive Neto
The Jazz waive favors
Find a team to take Bradley
Jazz waive Niang

To late to do the math but it seems like that would be over 30 million.

So the Jazz would be looking at

Conley
Mitchell, O'Neale
Ingles
Harris
Gobert

With nothing else on the roster. they would have the trade exception and what Min salaries after that?

I guess you could go to the lakers and and take Wagner and Bonga
Hope Neto comes back for the Min salaries and Niang

Maybe some vets would sign for the min hoping to be on the champion"ship"

I think they would have their 3 second round picks too

Damn. That's telling. Jazz could have easily drafted him with their last pick if they thought it would give them an edge on getting Tobias. Thanks for throwing cold water on me.

And our 3 second rounders would still be on the team right?

We could tell harris that we would actually sign his bro to the real roster and give him playing time since we would have to fill out our roster wih cheap dudes lol

Philly just letting him play summer league for funsies.
We could actually sign him to the teal roster and might actually have to give him minutes due to our gutted out no depth roster

To me, the solution to this is simple. You enhance the trade with Memphis. You do one of the following:

- add Exum and Bradley to the Conley deal. If they are smart, they take Exum because he is young and worth the risk.

- if they don't want Exum, you send them our 2020 1st (top 8 protected) AND our 2022 1st (top 6 protected like it was before).

We just expand the Conley deal. I think there is a team out there who would take Exum for nothing, but if not, expanding the Memphis deal where they get another 1st makes this pretty simple. Our pick is pretty much tied up to them anyway through 2022. And, Boston owns their pick in either 2020 or 2021. They would love to get another 1st rounder for their rebuild.

Harris' brother signed a summer league deal with Philly, but we could easily sign him to a real deal after summer league. Philly doesn't have his rights or anything like that.
