News, rumors and buzz around the draft and free agency

Regarding the depth issue if the Jazz get Bogdanovic (or Gallinari... or Harris):

These moves make the Jazz a destination, particularly for smart players that are serious about winning. There will be players the Jazz can get that they might not otherwise, and for potentially cheaper than they would otherwise.

I wouldn't underestimate this. If the Jazz landed Bogie, Utah went about fixing their anemic offense with a serious steak and spinach dinner. Consider also that Utah could maybe keep a player like Neto if there's enough cap. Utah's roster becomes a starting lineup of Rudy, Jingles, Bogie, Mitchell, and Conley, with Royce, Neto, Exum, and Niang (seriously think the dude is going to make strides this year). There's some versatility there as well. Utah can then focus on its exceptions and mins to fill out with some 4/5s.

The more I think about Bogie, the more it makes sense to me.

So Niko signed fr 6 and 80M in Europe. So all those that thought he left cause he’s a ***** were wrong... he got all teh monies and gets to play a lot less games.

Agreed. The initial reports were definitely Whiskey Tango Foxtrot as it didn't make sense unless he was just done. 6y/80 makes a ton more sense.

Weird, the 4 year report came later than this tweet but I can't find it.

I did see that one to, but the 6 yr deal was more widely reported. Either way, dude got paid above his value in the NBA in terms of years or per year compensation. You take that and run given those are after taxes, if I read correctly.

Of course you run with it but 80 mil is unprecented in Euro and only one player signed a 6 year deal and he is a Madrid legend already.

Anyway, I found the tweet. Original reporter seems very confident about 4 years. We will see what happens.

Sure, but Golden State and LA still exist and those teams have more opportunities for substantial minutes.

Pretty sure Powell is already confirmed to be getting a 3 year extension with the Mavs but I agree with the sentiment, he's really solid.

Speaking of Mavs though, I'm pretty confident if Favors goes to FA they'll be tripping over themselves to get a meeting with him. Luka/Porzingis/Favors could be a really good frontcourt.

Lets include dallas in the trade. Make it a 5 teamer
