I think Bojan will get offered a 4yr deal starting at $200K less than Favors' cap number (so Jazz don't have to release Neto or Niang). Other teams can certainly offer more; Jazz aren't going to be able to outbid everyone. The pitch will be to play for a legit contender. Indiana might vie for a 5-8 seed. I guess they could catch Toronto if Kawhi leaves, but Philly, Milwaukee and Boston will all be better than Indiana, with the strong possibility Nets will be too.
If Bojan joins the Jazz, it's probably between Jazz and Denver for 1st. Portland will hang in there, but I don't think they'll be better than us. And the Lakers, even with a 3rd max FA still have a crappy bench. Of course, that may change with ring chasers joining them.
As for Portis, I guess they're meeting with him as a Plan B. Hate to release Favors, make an offer to Washington and then they match and keep him or trade him elsewhere.
thats way more than 8 per year. We’re meeting with Portis in LA. I’m probably with Cy on this. Somewhere around 8M. I’d probably offer up to 4/44M.
thats way more than 8 per year.
It is if you're trying to sign another good rotation player this year. It’s % significantly more but it’s not toxic or near it at that price.
It is if you're trying to sign another good rotation player this year.
I very seriously doubt that report. It doesn't make much sense. Euro teams don't have that type of money to spend on players. Barcelona had 37M budget last year. And this includes like... everything - player salaries, coaches, operation costs, administration costs, etc. The highest paid player in Europe last year was 4-5m last season. There is no way in hell they just payed 3 times that for a single player. So Niko signed fr 6 and 80M in Europe. So all those that thought he left cause he’s a ***** were wrong... he got all teh monies and gets to play a lot less games.
Verbal agreements can be made at 6pm Eastern today. Nothing official until July 6.
Then why are we overpaying for a low level rotation player in Portis? We need impact players more than rotation players. You often have to overpay for them.
Then why are we overpaying for a low level rotation player in Portis?
Bobby Portis had a box plus minus of negative 2.9.11M for a fringe starter isn’t overpaying.
Dude. You're trolling. Again. Then why are we overpaying for a low level rotation player in Portis?

He's a fringe rotation player. You're out of your god damn mind. The only reason I'd give him 8 million is he specializes in a couple of skills that are useful in low minutes volume.
Yes, and him getting minutes was a big reason why.He was on a God awful team.
Donovan Mitchell had awful numbers for a team who got destroyed in the 1st round.Yes, and him getting minutes was a big reason why.
