Las Vegas SL -- Jazz v. Heat

It's not even close. JWF isnt close to what Burke was coming out of college as far as PG skills go.
Exactly. What I was trying to say that as a PG, Burke sure didn't like to pass. Seemed like he was looking for his shot every single time he had the ball. He became more of a scorer than a PG. JWF was a scorer who needs to learn PG skills. Not sure if he can ever become an NBA backup at PG.

Gobert/Davis/Bradley
Green/Niang/Brantley
Bogdanovic/Ingles
Mitchell/O'neale/Oni
Conley/Exum/Mudiay

14 players and the Jazz usually carry 14 and leave one roster spot open. Oni and Bradley would likely be 13th and 14th on the roster and could get time with the Stars (unless of course they impressed enough to earn spots on the 12 man). JWF could be kept on a two way or overseas deal if they choose. Works for me.

JWF is simple too inefficient as a shooter. Hopefully the G-League teaches him some skills or he’s the next Harlan/Goss/Paige.

He almost has like a throwback "90's Game"

He takes some crazy low percentage 2 point shots.

He'll have to leave some of those moves at Hofstra.

Still, his ability to create his own shot is there. He just needs to be smarter about it.

Burke only shot 13 shots per game his rookie season to 6 apg. His problem wasnt lack of passing. It was that he couldn't create shots other than mid-range pullups at a consistent rate.

I’d let JWF go overseas. Put Brantley on a 2 way. And sign Oni to the team but assign him to the Stars for much of the season. Oni seems like he has the most potential for growth.

I thought Reed was disappointing today. 40% from the foul line. Yuck. George King was intriguing today. He did OK and has a thick body. JWF was horrible, Oni and Sharma were bright spots. The trombone player hit a couple of 3s, Stanton Kidd redeemed himself from yesterday. Naz had a good game today. Put the Ferrari in the garage.

I like Oni's playmaking.

His playmaking kind of blows just because he really can't dribble through any kind of contact. He terminates the dribble at the first sign of adversity. If the Jazz can teach him how to play through contact and be more of a threat off the dribble attacking the rim, he can be a sort of tertiary playmaker out of the system. He's a lot like Royce and Ingles in that way. Ingles learned how to do in the last couple of years and Royce has shown some flashes. He has the vision and passing ability though.

Based on the players on the floor today, I'm not sure the coaches would trust anyone that played today with any NBA minutes this fall. Naz and Cavanaugh are tearing up this competition and the coaches and front office both said sayanora to both.

Regardless those scrubs wouldn't crack our lineup

He makes quick decisions and moves the ball made a couple decent passes... but yeah he really doesn’t look to playmake. As far as the guys being ready for the type of role they will have in the nba... he may be the closest. Shot looks wet. His defense is okay.

I’m curious if it was just coincidence that Troy Williams was sitting in the Jazz player side of the courtside bench or if there may be something there.

I’m hoping the Jazz can still get another PF to come in and compete for solid minutes or a starting job.

Sign Oni to a 3 year deal. Brantley and JFW to two year 2 way contracts. Call one or both up down the road if they show out.

Conley - Exum - Mudiay
Mitchell - O’Neale - Min FA
Boganovic - Jingles - Oni
Min FA - Niang - Green
Gobert - Davis - Bradley

His defense is a lot better than OK

JWF won’t go overseas. We own their rights and will keep them on the Stars for a year, all bets are off after that.

I haven’t been impressed with him yet but all these guys deserve a run with the Stars to develop.

I mean, its his choice if he wants to go overseas. Im guessing the Jazz probably discussed if hed be willing to be a 2 way tho.
