I watched the Bulls vs Pelicans game tonight, honestly to see Derick Favors more than Zion. I noticed that Favors was slow to react to switches or open players around the hoop.

The reason why this is in the Jazz forum is:

Is Favors slow to adjust to being "the guy" on D, or was Rudy THAT GOOD where Favors was just 'okay' on defense but playing with Rudy made him better?

Imho, I think its pre-season, but recognizing switches and other players losing their man is a player thing, not a system or a 'playing with that guy' thing.

What's your opinion?

I think Favors is used to trusting the man at his back. And has to unlearn that behavior.

It's preseason so don't think too much about it. I'm a Favs homer, but he is a good defender and will be an asset to the Pelicans.

With that said, there is no way to make up for Rudy's big fat D and Favs will need to adjust on his new team.

Favors defense was still really good even when he was on the floor without Gobert.

Breaking news. Statisticians are now able to determine a pattern after 1 data point.

New Vegas NBA championship odds finalized after first preseason games are in the books.

Jazz 2 main new additions to go 0-900 and 0-800 in 2019/2020 season.

Bucks to beat every team by 35 this year.

Bradley to be Jazz best player in 2019/2020 and average a double double.

Jazzfanz new thread topics hit an all time low and stay there for a year.

I watched the first Pels' game and Faves looked great. The only negative thing I noticed is that coach is not using him in the offense enough. Should at least run a few p n'rs for the guy when the defense starts keying on Zion.
