What's new

Jazz (26-12) at Wizards (13-25), Sunday 1/12/20, 1:30pmMT, 3:30pmET

I felt that Gobert looked okay defensively and our offense has been fine. Perimeter defense though looks pathetic. I wouldn't think I would miss Mitchell's defense more than his offense.

He’s gotta dominate this one though... not just be okay. Perimeter defense was awful though.

This team has a lot of fight... I expect us to see it second half. Wiz have been frisky and of course those assholes get completely healthy for us.

I do think that we'll make a run. We always seem to figure some thing out after halftime when Quin makes adjustments. The Wizards are unlikely to keep shooting the way that they did in the first half too.

wiz just happens to be one of those few teams that have the shooting power to punish us for not having a legit pf

rudy has to sag off on basically every wiz players long range attempts because he cannot afford to leave the paint wide open

This isn't a new thing this season, Crowder and Joe Johnson have played the majority of power forward minutes for us the past 3 seasons and they weren't as good on defense as Royce, and they sure as hell weren't protecting the paint. Favors only played the first 5 minutes of every half at power forward.

To dominate he needs some help. Even mid-range shots Wiz took were wide open. He can't go out to contest them all. I think he will be more aggressive in second half but I am not sure it's a better thing. We are so ****ing disciplined about the way we want to play defense.

but they both at least would do a better job switching on those perimeter shooters off of a pick n roll. rudy is a defensive anchor in the paint. asking him to guard those shooters on the perimeter is no different from asking favors to take those corner 3s.

Jazz make a run, refs immediately make a questionable call and a tech. And the game feels completely different.
