Conley is a chemistry problem and we should trade him

I've picked up on some comments from other posters that I think are spot-on about Conley. Joe doesn't play as well with him in the game, and neither does Clarkson. When Mike is in, he dominates the ball a lot more than Mudiay, so consequently Clarkson is getting a lot less touches. In fact, Donovan gets Clarkson involved a lot more than Mike. Plus Mike still is unsure of who to pass to or where to be. Notice the crappy pass to Rudy, and being out of position on the break when Donovan looked for him on the 3-point line. His indecisiveness also showed with him slipping and another time in an unforced turnover. The guy has got to go. I much rather have Mudiay playing. Plus he's on the downside of his career and Mudiay has been steadily improving and has a lot more upside. The problem now is the same we faced with Dante. Who would want him with his jacked-up salary? It's like the saying we can't see the forest for the trees. All along we had Donovan and we kept looking for a PG, first it was going to be Dante, and now Conley. We've got two good PGs, Donovan and Mudiay, with Joe the PF. Let's get a solid third-stringer like Neto and find a team for Conley. Then we'll be set.

There is no team in their right mind that would want Conley. We would have to add assets just for a team to take him. If he was on an expiring contract he would have some value as a trade asset but with that player option hanging over his head, he is pretty much untradable.

With his contract we would have to give up assets to move him. For better or worse we're stuck with him.

Has he bulked up? People have described him as thin, but his arms look jacked to me. Maybe extra weight has him off balance?

Conley is certainly tradeable. The Pistons, Knicks, and Cavs would all be willing takers (especially Cleveland as there have been no takers for Kevin Love's contract). The Jazz need more help in rebounding than they do in ball handling.

I don't know why Mike Conley hasn't worked - it's one of those things that on paper should have been a perfect fit. Maybe he will find his groove with the team just in time. Maybe not, I hope he does. The dude has Jazz DNA. Crazy as it sounds, maybe Donovan missing a few games here and there might help Conley adjust, but you really can't do that. It'd be nuts.

Wasn't a fan of the trade when it happened and nothings occurred to prove me wrong as of yet. His contract is an anchor and perennial talk of how "underrated" he is was a little disturbing for me when we made the transfer. Still rather have Rubio, Favors, Korver etc... for a song compared to what we pay Conley however I think we`re stuck with him. That said as of now despite the recent loss we are a winning team and i tend to be a glass half full fan and still hoping the best is to come for Mike and for the team. Fingers crossed.

Edit: Joncolton, didnt consider it but i would totally take Love for Conley straight up if its actually realistic, but im not sure it is. Could solve our centre concerns. (ill informed of his contract status though)

Conley looks a little lost at times. But it's athleticism looks fine. He was quick and cutting hard this game. Things will slow down for him and make us a better team. Give it another month and we will be rolling.

We didn't lose to Houston because of conley. The team played really sloppy and didn't seem to care until the end. They thought they could coast through the game and then turn it on at the end and win.

We need Conley to get minutes and get in rythym. Him playing well could get us a championship this year. He isn't washed, he just had one of his best years last year. He needs to stay healthy and learn the system. It takes time for a pg in Snyder's system. Especially a player like Conley.

At least he will be tradeble next season as an expiring contract. I am still hoping that he will find his place in our system, he played bad yesterday for sure, but so did most of the team.

I thought his effort was a lot better tonight ... but where he fits in is a problem ..

In Memphis , he played the pick and pop with a big that could shoot from range ... gobert isn’t that guy ... and conleys ability , or inability to find Gobert is a huge problem ..

When his shots are falling it kinda masks the problem ...

I’m not giving up on him yet ... I want to see what adjustments Snyder can do for him and the Jazz to make this work
