What games are y'all looking forward to this week?

My match-ups of the week are Mississippi State vs. Auburn. State should be able to end Auburn's win streak fairly easily. Also, Alabama vs Penn State. Alabama should also win fairly easily, but I'm curious to see how Bama's inexperienced QB duo does on the road against a ranked opponent.

As we get ready for week 2, I think I speak for both Ute and Cougar fans when I say how awsome it is that our teams are prepping for USC and Texas as opposed to New Mexico and Wyoming.

Should be a pretty good week of football..

Two interesting Pac-12 out of conference games(future Utah opponents later this year) on Thursday, Friday
Arizona @ Oklahoma State
Missouri @ Arizona State

Oh yeah the Utah-USC game will have my full attention on Saturday I don't really care what happens in other games on that day. I think Cougar fans probably will say the same about their game with Texas.

I'm at a loss for the Texas game. I could see BYU coming out and playing inspired ball. I think they have the offense to give Texas some trouble. But they're going to need to play less conservatively and Heaps cannot afford to be off again.

I could also see Texas unleashing a devastating passing game while Heaps continues to be "off" with the cougs getting their butts kicked like they did against Florida St a few years back.

I think the Utah game is much easier to predict. A slugfest low scoring game with the two teams grinding it out. I seriously wouldn't be surprised to see something like 17-14, with USC's defense running out of gas.

I think Utah is the better team. But, I just have as much confidence in Wynn as I do CJ Miles. And to be fair, Heaps looked pretty shaky too.

the only offense that looked like a "real" offense was Utah St. What an incredible job by that freshmen QB! And their scheme is light years ahead of BYU and Utah's. They threw deep, threw short, killed Auburn with those "now passes", and ran the ball pretty well. Who is Utah St's O coordinator anyway?

I think it will definitely be interesting to see if Auburn is just a bad team like some suspect, or if Utah State battled it out against a decent team.

Overall, the college football schedule does seem to lack excitement this week beyond the BYU/SC games for me. Oklahoma State/Arizona could be interesting. TCU/Air Force could be interesting. Georgia/South Carolina could be interesting. Notre Dame/Michigan could be interesting now that ND has the better QB starting. I probably won't go out of my way to watch any of those, however.

If Auburn brings the same effort against Mississippi State that they did vs. Utah St., I think MSU could blow them out. I think Auburn will come out playing inspired though. MSU has a very good run game though, and I don't think Auburn has a chance in hell at stopping it. State like to pound the ball inside with it's RB Vick Ballard, and it's QB Chris Relf.

I too think it's cool that both schools are actually playing somebody.

Even if I'm not too confident that either team will win, it sure beats playing some worthless game against Wyoming, Washington, or Tulsa.

I'm looking forward to seeing Wynn's, "I'm 16 just going through puberty. Mustache is growing in good right?"

If I was a BYU fan, first I'd probably shoot myself and end it all, but before that I would look at the upcoming schedule of San Jose St, Idaho State, Idaho, and New Mexico State and I'd long for the days of Wyoming and New Mexico.

Games I am looking forward to this weekend

Notre Dame/Michigan - First night game ever at the BIG HOUSE!

Utah/USC

BYU/Texas

Bama/Penn State

Arizona/Ok State

Missouri/Arizona St

Great point and something I didn't consider when praising both schools for actually playing somebody. 1/2 of BYU's schedule will probably always be brutally weak as long as they are indy.

Well, I would point out why you're wrong considering their back end scheduling is already getting progressively better as teams release themselves from future contracts, but.....

BYU to the Big 12 in....5....4....3....2....1...

So it doesn't matter.

Believe it or not, I'm actually a big fan of BYU to the Big 12 for 2 reasons:

1- It helps keep the rivalry intact. Both programs being in different BCS conferences makes it easier to continue playing on a yearly basis as an intersectional game.

2- BYU going to the Big 12 obviously means there is a still a Big 12. I'm not a big fan of the 16-team "Super Conferences". This keeps Texas and Oklahoma out of the PAC which helps Utah, and I don't know if you knew this or not, but I'm a big fan of anything that helps Utah.

While I don't think we'll see 4, 16 team super conferences, I do think you'll see all 5 current BCS conferences go to 14 teams. The SEC is going to set the precedent by getting A&M and needing a 14th to balance out the 2 divisions. All of the others will follow suit.

The Arizona/Ok State team stats don't make you think 37-14:

That must have been a painful game for Arizona fans.

Game was a blowout from the start. I was switching back and forth between this game and the NFL game. At one point when it was 21-7 and Okla St. was about to score again they threw a pick at the 5 yard line. Was thinking that may be a turning point and give some momentum to Arizona but they just couldn't get anything going offensively.

Pac 12 is looking baddddddd... Even though Okla St. was favored and at home I expected a closer game.

Should be interesting to see if Arizona State can compete with Missouri tonight in their own house. If its another blowout for a non Pac 12 school people will question the conference once again.

The thing was Arizona didn't even throw any Jake Heaps worthy 96 yard Int's for touchdowns or anything.

400 yards in the air/ 0 INT's/14 points. That just seems wrong.
