What's new

2020 Vintage 80’s 90’s draft winner changes my picture.

Got my first 5, not necessarily starting 5 but we'll see.
  1. Kevin Johnson (Should have been Isaiah Thomas, but I am a busy man)
  2. Joe Dumars
  3. Dominique Wilkins
  4. Kevin Garnett
  5. Patrick Ewing
Interior D is a 10/10, plus an elite wing defender, but shooting and backcourt size is obviously going to be an issue. Although this was the 80's and 90's there were like 6 people that could shoot at all. I've got a plan to shore those up though. Really wanted Isaiah or Timmy Hardaway but I screwed the pooch. KJ is nice though.

Alright I guess I'm up... everyone needs to be ashamed of themselves... yall were out here picking rookie vince carter and paul pierce with prime George Gervin out here....

Before KD there was Iceberg Slim.... Let me take you through his scoring averages from his age 28-32 seasons (the relevant period here).

27
32 - led the league
26
26
21

So I'm starting:
Magic
Dr.J
The Iceman
C-Webb
Moses Malone

with Penny coming off the bench (probably reached a bit but I loved me some Penny so get the hell off me).

All 5 seasons he was an all-star. Now go back to your rooms and think about what you have done.
Shouldn’t you start Ice man at sg and Dr. J at sf?

great pick though

It does not matter... they wingzz and all three perimeter guys have wing size so we just gonna find your tiny guys and exploit the hell out of them.

So...
C- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
PF - Alonzo Mourning
SF - Clyde Drexler
SG - Mitch Richmond
PG - John Stockton

Love the versatility of my team so far. Great shooters in Stockton and Richmond both are some of the best clutch players in the 90’s. Clyde was a beast of an athlete. He was unstoppable slashing to the hoop and on fast breaks. Kareem and Stockton’s two man game would be lethal. The twin tower affect of Zo and Kareem defensively would be perfect against 80’s and 90’s style offense.

Just watching his highlights I'm not a fan. Stats sure, but I don't love his game. A product of his era imo.

His highlights might not excite you but not sure you can call him a product of his era... not even sure what that means. Wasn't like 30 ppg scorers were just everywhere then. His teams were good too... they weren't just good stats on a bad team.

Skyhooks, bank shots, and finger rolls are boring, but they all count.

My team is about balling, but it's also about personality and charisma. With that in mind, I'm drafting the NBA's most famous finger wagger....
