Jazz - Nuggets: Round 1

Guard rotation should be:
-Mitchell (36) / Mudiay (12)
-Clarkson (36) / Mudiay (12)

For each half:
-Mitchell plays 9 minutes on, 6 minutes off (with the quarter break in there), 9 minutes on.
-Clarkson plays Mitchell’s old rotation so he still plays with the bench: 6 minutes on, 3 minutes off, 6 minutes on, 3 minutes off, 6 minutes on.
-Mudiay subs in for Clarkson at 6:00 and stays on the floor for 12 consecutive minutes (with a quarter break in there). He plays a total of 24 minutes.

Tucker is on deck in case Mudiay SUUUCKS, foul trouble, injury, etc. (I think he looked good).

Brantley and/or Oni needs to play. Niang should play very minimally but will probably play substantially. Bradley will play.

Who plays? I admit I haven’t watched much and Mudiay looked like garbage when I did. But experience matters and our other options have basically none.

If your point is that we don’t have two Mudiays then har har.
 
I think Mudiay will be the main backup and start. Niang will get minutes but get pulled if he sucks for Brantley.

i don’t see Oni getting much time unless denver goes small.

Oni, at least he wouldn't lose us the game, which is the only scenario I can envision for Mudiay.

But yea, it will be Mudiay, hopefully Quin is willing to pull the plug quickly

His offense in starting lineup is more harmful than coming off the bench IMO. You can then take out Brantley early if needed and slide O’Neale to the 4

Wish the jazz would start Brantley and start O’Neale at sg DM at pg.
 
Game starts in just over an hour. Has there been any official word on who is starting in place of Conley?
 
was a funeral this AM and stood next to Joe Kleine - I take this as some kinda omen
 
Yeah Morgan Starting is not what I expected. I though it would be Oni or Muiday if Clarkson was coming off the bench. But I like the move as it gives us more size against Denver's big lineup.
 
Honestly I didn’t see this coming from Quin— I think it’s another evolution from him as a coach.

honestly it’s a win-win— no one thinks the Jazz are going all the way. The players see the reward of a player committing 100% to defence, and either it works or it doesn’t. Who cares if it doesn’t. Just excellent decision by Quin. I’m so bummed I’m working today
 
Hmmmmm Morgan starting. I like it better than some of the options. I wonder if he guard Jokic a little and it allows Rudy to guard Millsap and leave him on the perimeter to help a little. Millsap is historically a 35% shooter but has shot 40%+ on low volume.

In the past we put Favs on Jokic a bunch with Rudy helping. Rudy would still play him plenty, but I wonder if Morgan gets a few minutes... he may foul out if he isn't disciplined but it saves Rudy a little. IDK just a thought.
