SALT LAKE CITY — Following the lead of some other NBA teams, the Utah Jazz announced on Friday morning that Vivint Arena, as well as some Megaplex Theatres (both of which are owned by Gail Miller) will be used as voting locations on Election Day, Nov. 3.

The move is part of an NBA-wide effort to encourage people to vote.

“Our sports and entertainment venues are familiar community gathering places, and we are pleased to join with the Salt Lake County Election Division to provide four facilities as safe, convenient and accessible voting locations on Election Day,” Miller said in a statement.

Beside Vivint Arena, Megaplex Luxury Theatres at Cottonwood in Holladay, Megaplex Theatres at The District in South Jordan and Megaplex Theatres at Jordan Commons in Sandy will be available as voting locations.

“Exercising our right to vote allows us to share our voice and to act to preserve our rights and freedoms,” Miller said in her statement. “We hope the use of our facilities provides voters with greater poll access and that the voter experience meets the highest standards of safety, security and election integrity.”

While the Jazz have been in the NBA’s “bubble” in Orlando for nearly two months, voting has been a major topic of conversation. Earlier this month while talking about a shirt he was wearing with a quote from the late Rep. John Lewis on it, Utah head coach Quin Snyder said, “We talk about ‘good trouble.’ That’s something that guys are conscious of and trying to make a difference in many ways, but particularly with voting.”

Lol people couldn't vote before this? This is nothing more than a political protest and it's pretty obvious. Desperation really as you know who has slid dramatically after all the terrorism you radical have caused
Increasing polling locations during corona and putting a huge spotlight on voting are both important. This is ****ing obvious.

You also seem to be ignorant of the many stories, from the midterm elections to now, of different ways the vote has been suppressed via the closure of polling locations. What a shocker.

EDIT: glad I caught some of the extra ******** you tried to erase.

Who you voting for and what platform do they have to solve police brutality?

I'll wait

Jebus... Take the L. The owners are taking action because the players asked for it... what happens from here is up to the general public.

^Hilariously desperate to regain some footing^
No my point is that this still is not fixing a thing. Randomly voting for someone which you don't even know their platform isn't fixing a thing.

Like you, you don't even know what your voting for. Now how in the world is that fixing police brutality? It's not. Pretty basic common sense dude.

And the general public, like @noas doesn't have a clue.

Do you? Who's police brutality platform are you for? Tell me how randomly voting fixes police brutality when the general public is oblivious. Or prove me wrong and educate me. Educate others that read this

Bro who you voting for that’s gonna terraform Mars, doe??
They could solve world peace and he'd be like... WTF about global warming doe??? They haven't solved **** and its been a whole 48 hours.

I have no clue... I'm woefully ignorant. I do know that voter suppression is a thing and having more places to vote helps that. They are trying to do what they can... they are getting action... it may not make a huge difference... but I respect that they are trying.

Everybody who reads this post is absolutely certain that you have no idea who I am, how I’m involved in my community, or anything about my other political involvements or background. So, let me ask you, how is this post supposed to read as anything other than pure desperation and an inability to take an L?

You have no clue.

Exactly. Just like rest of the general population. So explain how this fixes police brutality.
