Steal now- Lauri Markkanen

Potential is there. I don’t think I am alone with that opinion . We will see.
However you are way overvalued on Bojan’s impact. He is a poor man’s Kevin Love.
Yeah, I'm not a huge Bogey fan at all, but I dont see Lauri having a better season than what Bogey had this past year on a good playoff team.

Im not calling Lauri bad, but I do think his ceiling is about what Bogey did this year.

How so? The dude cant d and is a positional tweener. What massive potential has he shown?
How is Lauri a "positional tweeter" but Bojan is not?
Bojan has the size of a forward but he can't even outrebound most of the guards. And when you put him out on the perimeter he is too slow to guard anyone.
Lauri on the other hand is a PF who can rebound at 10-15% rate(Bojan by comparison, had never reached double digit rebounding % in his career). He is a 7footer with size advantage in the paint. He can score in the low post as well as stretch the floor. He's basically Prozingis 2.0 minus the rim protection and remember how many teams basically had gone crazy when Knicks made him available in the trade market?

I love this because it would move Royce to the three. We also have bench guys who can cover the 3 spot. And we already have Niang for one dimensional shooting. I like this move a lot. And the defense would be better.

Yeah dude, that's why I said his potential is what Bogey did this year.

Bojan is about half of what Lauri is in terms of rebounding
And? Neither player is your primary rebounding force. If Lauri is your center your team is going to get smoked on the boards, and that's what he has to be to unlock his potential.

Lauri was the starting 4/5 on a bottom 3 rebounding team in the NBA>

Bogey was the starting 3/4 on the 8th best rebounding team.

Lauri is a PF not a center. We don't need him to be the primary rebounder/defender on this team as long as Rudy's still here. Bojan's defense/rebound are so bad that putting him on PF hurts the team whereas Lauri is at least a passable rebounder who can also provide that valuable spacing the jazz needs.
We are the 8th best rebounding despite of having Bojan not because of. Our rebounding number per 100poss increases from 44.8 to 45.4 when Bojan is off the floor, whereas Bulls rebounds/100poss drops when Lauri is on the bench.

Im not saying Bogey is a better rebounder, but he doesnt hurt that much and he's a much better offensive player than Lauri.

No thanks. Doesnt really fit the current timeline. Jazz need guys who are ready now for peak playoff basketball. Jazz dont need a worse version of Bogey with a few inches of aesthetic height and "potential".
What's the jazz timeline? They not contenders rn. Not even close . They need to make a run when DM gets closer to his prime. So they should build for then and this kid can play. With that said Bulls not going give him up for some scrubs off the Jazz bench who are barely nba players. Serious you think the jazz are contenders RN? What makes you think this honestly. Take off your jazz hat and put on your neutral glasses and tell me how the Jazz are legit contenders in a beast west
Lakers
Nuggets
Clippers
Mavericks
Rockets
Warriors

Those six you can pencil in for west next year. Teams like memphis,N.O, Minny ,Sac, phoenix are all up and coming young teams.

Jazz are there with OKC just kind of in the middle. To me best thing to do is get young guys and let them grow a bond together with DM ,it has worked magic for Nuggets who would be up in series if big crybaby leFraud James didn't whine to the refs. Those young teams are building teams and the players are creating bonds together. Jazz are in serious trouble of becoming a doormat team. I like DM but he a high volume scorer lime Carmelo Anthony,Tmac and those guys never won anything

Yes, I think the Jazz are contenders right now, or as close as they are going to get unless some really lucky things happen (get an all-star in the late 1st/2nd round, other teams get major injuries in a playoff series, etc).

Jazz definitely shouldn't completely sell out to compete now, but they shouldn't be selling their ability to compete now for a chance to compete later.

And IDK how you can suck that Nugget dick and say the Jazz arent contenders. Do you think the Nuggs are contenders? Cuz the Jazz would have beat them if they had a healthy Bogey.

Trading for Lauri Markkanen, a guy with relatively modest potential (does anyone think he is ever going to make an All-Star team?), isnt going to make the Jazz any better down the line than they currently are now.

Lauri's ceiling is what Bojan did this year lmfao.

Youre the same Moran who didn’t want Clarkson when I recommended the trade about 10 months ago.

Lauri is not Bogey. He is and could become an entirely different player and comparing them is retarded.

OKC is leaps and bounds better than us.

So Jazz suck but Clippers who lost exactly the same in 7 games against Denver are great? And they have health issues which force them to manage the games load of Kawhi and PG (who sucks anyway come playoffs time) . You are so sure that Warriors will be that great when both their stars are coming of a serious injuries and will need time to adjust to new teammates? I see only Lakers clearly above others and other teams are very close to each others. Nobody here claims that they are clear contenders but they are second tier team and with some wise additions and if healthy they can be dangerous for everyone.

“Nuggets who would be up in series if big crybaby leFraud James didn't whine to the refs.“

that was Pathetic ..the guy who campaigns as the GOAT whines to the league once it was going to be a hard fought series. He is delusional.

Cuz the Jazz would have beat them if they had a healthy Bogey.
. Not apples to apples. What if Barton and Harris play that whole series as well?
I think Murray is actually a better scorer than Donovan and that’s saying something. He is certainly more efficient shooting % . Not a volume guy.

No. They sure have a lot of talent but it's even hard to say how they will look next season. Will they try to unload CP3? If not is he able to stay healthy another season? He's been still the biggest factor in this team performing better that anyone expected.

LeBron is playing PG and he takes more contact without calls than any guard in the game. LeBron only took 10 free throws in games 1, 2 and 3 COMBINED. Thats so incredibly bogus that it had to be addressed. Did he get too many last night? Sure. I still saw a play in the 1st half when he got blatantly hit in the head with no call.

Back to topic, Cy is right. We dont need to sacrifice contending now to contend later. But I will add - we need a long term plan because we have done nothing to build anything around Don in a few years.
