Jazz Roster (Guaranteed Deals Only)

Conley -
Mitchell - Hughes - Oni
Ingles - Royce -
Bogey -
Gobert - Udoka -

2-Way:
Trent Forrest

So that's 19 players who will be guaranteed (I'm assuming on Hughes) and 1 2-way guy.

Means the Jazz have 6 open roster spots.

Obviously Clarkson is the main focus per reports. Assuming the Jazz get him they have 5 open spots.

They will have Tucker, Niang, Morgan, JWF, Brantley, and NWG on non-guaranteed deals or under RFA.

Going to assume Niang comes back since he is a returning rotation player, Also going to assume Morgan comes back given he seemed to be next up for minutes and has received positive reviews per reports.

That leaves the Jazz with 3 spots left.

Conley -
Mitchell - Clarkson - Oni
Ingles - Royce - Hughes
Bogey - Niang - Morgan
Gobert - Udoka -

Needs seem to be 3rd string PG and more wing or 3/4 combo types. They also need to fill another 2-way spot.

Do they bring back Tucker or Brantley? Who should they sign?

I imagine Mudiay wants more money and a bigger role elsewhere-I think both sides knew that was the plan. I’d personally like him back, and there were times I felt more confident with him there than Conley.

No secret I don’t think Conley fits here. If clarkson walks, keep him as a scorer off the bench. But Mitchell is best at PG in the mold of a Damian Lilliard. I’d like someone with size at SG next to him, Royce might work.

I want Favors back. Bad. It makes jingles far more effective, and I don’t like the fit of jingles and bojan starting. Favors and ingles with clarkson off the bench, with someone in the mold of jerami grant at PF next to Bojan fixes so, so many of our problems.

Jerami Grant has to be the priority. Offer him the full MLE, a new car, a house, whatever. If he is interested at all and we need more space, dump Conley.

Grant at SF/PF next to Bojan at SF/PF is a game changer for us. Absolute game changer.

As of today, post-draft, the need for someone like Shaq Harrison is even more glaring.

I hope they find a way to dump Davis and let Morgan compete with Udoka for minutes at backup C. Whatever it takes to create another roster spot and bring in more help for the perimeter defense.
Yeah, Shaq Harrison might be the target here. The Jazz dont have enough available minutes to get any bonified rotation player if they re-sign Clarkson.

Elfird Payton got his option turned down. Utah probably doesnt have enough minutes offer him, but he'd be an interesting crack at unlocking a player like they did with Mudiay.

The Knicks just opened up $40 million in cap space by waiving or declining options on 6 players. Let's just trade them Conley for 2nd rounders then offer Jerami Grant the most money in free agency.

So Detroit cut into their space a lot last night and won’t be able to give Wood the money... I’m guessing he is headed to Charlotte but the suitors are dwindling and Charlotte is generally stupid so they may not offer him... is there a 25% chance we can snake him with the MLE.
