Game Thread May 16, 2021 07:00PM MT: Jazz at Kings

People wonder why Quin plays our starters so long keep forgetting how bad our scrubs have played. I can only recall one game where they expanded the lead when they came in. I think Jazz Nation overrate some of our scrub bench guys. I hope the Jazz do not bring back Thomas. Dude is a chucker who is overrated as a shooter at least with the Jazz.
Dude, no team is coming back from 25 down in 5 mins let alone the kings. You could literally take shot clock violations every time and still win comfortably.

Kind of hard when he’s the second or third best play maker on the team with the injuries we’ve had.

Mitchell missed 19 games and Conley missed 22 games. Ingles picked up the slack when those two were out.

We stayed afloat and have the best record in the league somehow with those row missing a combined 41 games. Ingles was a large part of that.
Yep. All I am saying is, where possible, he should've been rested at the first chance. Tonight was a chance.

Good thing there's the play in or this team would be toast.

You wouldn't know it, but I'm happy the Jazz did what Stockton, Malone, and Jerry never did.

And neither did the Nuggets!
(Gotta say I feel a little bad for the Suns, they finish with the second best record in the League and will likely lose to the Lakers in the first round- ouch!)
Is that a given. Everyone is assuming the Lakers beat the Warriors. If the Lakers lose to the Warriors then they play the winner of the 9/10 game. The winner of that game plays the Jazz. So if I am reading this right, The Jazz could play the Lakers in the first round.

Does that make up for over-playing Joe into the ****ing dirt? He was playing awesome and - unsurprisingly - he started looking like dog **** a few weeks into playing 30+ every. single. game. I get that they needed him for most of those games, but he should've been the first dude sat where possible.

He is our X-factor and has been the Jazz's 4th-best player this year. Well, until he got ridden into the ground.
Donovan and Mike are ultimately more important. They are fresh as spring daises. Somebody had to play the last month of games. Just give Joe the next five days in a row off. He'll be fine.

With the Jazz's luck, I've already accepted that's exactly what's going to happen.

It's really quite impressive we got the #1 seed missing two all stars from our team. Phoenix was close to us for the #1 seed with a very healthy team. Lakers dropped from #2 seed to #7 seed missing players.

Lakers are going to empty every round in the gun to win, at home, that first game. If they lose, then, hell, bring 'em on. They aren't ready yet. Might as well get them now.

I wasn't suggesting they could. I agree he should have taken the starters out sooner but all I was saying is the scrubs haven't give Quin any reason to play them. Just a few games ago Quin had to reinsert Niang and Clarkson back into the game because scrubs manage to lose a big chuck of a 20 pt lead in a few minutes.

So I still don't know how the tournament works. Is the 7th seed basically whoever wins out of the 7/8 (GSW/Lakers) game? Then 8 is determined by the winner between the loser of 7/8 and the winner of 9/10?

Poor Phoenix... All of that work... Only to be ousted in 5 games in their first playoff series in 10 years.

They can beat the Lakers, but Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton need to grow up fast. It is a big ask for a team's first PO series though.

The Clippers really tanked to be the 4 seed to play us in the 2nd round without home court vs the Lakers with home court. That is going to bite them in the ***.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they lost in the first round anyway
