Does Quin Survive?

Snyder stays because Utah has never been a franchise willing to rock the boat too much with radical moves. Maybe Ryan Smith is different but i doubt it.

With that said, Quin should be lucky he's coaching the Jazz and not another franchise because I guarantee with how quick some franchises have been in the past to fire coaches (remember when the Raptors canned Dwane Casey, despite his being Coach of the Year, because he lost in the semifinals?), if we were another franchise, he'd likely be gone after two epic collapses in back-to-back postseasons.

Even though Carlisle hit a wall with Dallas, I'd take him over Quin because, at the end of the day, I suspect, at his worst, he's likely to get you the same level of postseason success we've seen under Quin. At his best, he can elevate this team into a true title contender (and not a pretender). Hell, at this point, I'd be okay getting the 70 year old D'Antoni.
Firing Dwayne Casey was the right move.

I don't know if the right move is to go after anothwer head coach.
I know if Carlisle is interested he's one guy I would go for in the case we part ways with Snyder.

He has a better chance of surviving than DL.
This... the natural order is new GM... then new coach. Ironically if DL does a better job then Quin has more tools and if he ****s it up then you can point the blame finger at him.

This is on Quin. This heavy 3 offense needs balance. He failed to adjust when the clips did and it has cost the best chance in the franchises history of winning a championship. Same thing 2 years straight. No balance just keep launching threes.

They are all going to survive — DL, Quin, nearly the entirety of the roster. If anyone was going to get fired, right now is the time before they are balls deep in draft prep searching for the player with the biggest hand pads.

Instead, DL and Zanik are getting on a plane to Chicago today to prep for the combine. Listen to the DL interview yesterday.

We are running it back sans Conley, who will sign somewhere else. See you all in a year after a disappointing offseason and first or second round exit. We’ll then wash, rinse, repeat, again erring towards continuity until the core ages out and Mitchell leaves.

There are people higher on my list of who to blame than Quin, namely the front office that somehow built a roster that was a tough defensive team with no shooters, then overreacted and built a roster that was an offensive glass cannon with only one real defender. I honestly can’t think of any other team that’s done that in such a short amount of time, if it all, with the same coach.

Quin made both versions of those Frankenstein rosters work. Both had fatal flaws, neither were built to win a title.

I also don’t think there’s anyone better available. Carlisle *maybe.*

Bring Carslile as assistant coach and when come playoff time swap their roles. Quin can get the players water and let Carslile do the adjustments. lol

This^ The guy is simply not a guy that can excel in the playoffs due to his inability to make adjustments. (I imagine him to be a total OCD control freak - think Nicholas Cage character in Matchstick Men.)
