Trade Millsap and pick up Tyson Chandler?

Why does everyone want to get rid of Milsap so much? I don't want to see him anywhere but Utah. He is smart, versatile, clutch, great attitude. He also has roots with the Jazz at a time when not many players on our team have been here for more than a year, I feel like that's very important with so many new and young members of our team. The only players I would take in return for him are so unrealistic that no team would go for it.

Agree!! I don't see the jazz starting the season without Millsap. Remember Greg really likes him and paid big money at the time to keep Millsap in Utah. Plus look what happened when he let portland steal Mathews away from us.

Millsap is a bargain at what we're paying for him. He's reliable, consistent, constantly improving, and never stops working. I agree that he's the one guy I wouldn't trade because he's probably the most dependable player on the team.

I like you.

Because he is an undersized PF that does not have the skills to play SF for a significant amount of time. And he was terrible on the defensive end last year getting completely dominated by bigger PF's. Also his backup from last year should have been starting over him by the end of the year (Favors).

I would keep Millsap if he would accept his role as a backup PF. But I find it hard to believe that a guy like him will accept this role. Especially since he did not handle going to the bench very well the last time he was demoted. Simply put Favors is > than Millsap now and going forward.

Furthermore Millsap is one of our best trade pieces and we could really use a good PG and SF. We are stacked at PF.

because its convenient for people to dismiss millsap's valuable contribution as he is already at his peak and it is likewise convenient to project that the young players after him will produce much more better numbers in the future.

you are right. But everyone acts like a player only "Peaks" for one or two years. Milsap is just reaching his peak and I believe he will be there for at least 4 years. He is exactly what this team needs in the coming years. He's the perfect age and at the right point in his career. Plus, knowing Milsap, the longer he goes without getting that title, the hungrier he will get. Imagine this team when all our young guys are just coming into theirs, and he knows he is coming to the end of the plateau. IMHO Milsap is key......the future is bright.

Right now, nobody is at a point to take the starting job from him. When somebody threatens him, the Jazz might explore options for getting rid of the best non-rookie contract on the team.

All the Jazz are doing is seeing what offers come up which is exactly what they should be doing. I don't think a good enough offer will come in. Millsap isn't going any where.

I think Chandler's overrated in general (I credit Dwayne Casey more for Dallas' D than Chandler himself) and is certainly not ideally aged for a rebuild. He's also going to command a contract worth too much money.

As far as Millsap goes, this just looks like a non-sequitor TRADE MILSAP 2 SMALL 4 BALL thread to me.
