Gobert to Minnesota

I hope you are right. It just makes zero sense to trade an all star and all you get back is rotation guys and a hope to get lucky with picks. Every other trade I heard rumored we got back a proven starter. I would much rather have proven talent then a hope for good picks. I am hopeful the other trades give us some talent for this year.
We can easily parlay these picks into a proven starter.

27 and 29 might be decent. But 23 and 25 are gonna be outside of top 20 for sure.
Idk. We are talking timberwolves here. I kid, kinda. With them you never know. KAT gets hurt, Gobert being such a unique player doesn't fit, D-lo turns into a headcase. Boom, lottery. You just never know.

One added bonus: I dont have to vehemently defend Rudy to the death to dumbass jazz fans who dont see his value. Hell, this trade proves his value. Amazing haul.

Classic Tony Jones Andy Larson duel
Tony on the radio today was like "I'm told nothing is imminent on a trade right now but I was also told nothing was imminent on a Rudy trade a day or so ago".

Things can change but I think Tony has certain sources that will report one way... Andy may have different sources. IF Don is traded then Tony's source is trash or a liar cuz he been saying this whole time it ain't happening.

I really hope you are right but not convinced on the easy part. The only way this makes sense is IF we are creating a package for real starters this year OR we are blowing it all up and we could care less about the next few years. We let talent walk this week that was cheap and as good of some of what we are getting back in terms of current productivity.

Trust me on this: You are dramatically underestimating the trade value of 1st rounders.

I think we have 2 routes to take right now:

Path one - competitive: Trade 2 first OR 1 first and a role player for DeAndre Ayton or a similar big and run it back with (hopefully better chemistry), less defense but more offense at the 5.

Path two - Rebuild the crap out of the team. Mitchell for 6 picks and aim our sites on Victor Wembanyama

Vandberbilt is one scrappy *** player. Kind of guy that is easy to root for. Maybe some of Bev can rub on DM. Beasley has a lot of JC hot/cold in him.
My brother, who knows his basketball really well, says we will all love him.

This is such a good deal I honestly can’t believe it. In Ainge we trust. He’s a god.
Im with ya. And again, im a big time Gobert homer.

Well technically it is 5 because the Jazz got Kessler who was picked in this draft.
Also their first rounder last year and a pick swap so really its more like 6.5 picks ;)

Look at the roster. They will be a contender for 5 years.

yep cause what you see on paper always translates and injuries and chemistry issues never ever happen.

Ok I’m dumb. What’s so exciting about future first round picks from a team that will be really good and the pic is likely to be 20-22 or thereabouts. While getting significantly worse at the same time ???
