Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I actually don't think the Jazz are going to do anything to help Brooklyn. I think they are bluffing to drive the price up for New York. That's the only play. If there is no New York deal, you just hold on to Donovan. The Brooklyn and Heat deals are garbage. Jazz will take Ayton from Phoenix if the deal is good enough (A player and a first.) Otherwise I think they just might start doing small ball deals to trim age off the roster and get picks.
DITTO!

Toronto has the ability to put together a very strong package for KD if they're motivated to. They're now the 2nd favorite to land KD per the betting odds. I don't know if BRK would actually send KD there, since it's not a team he mentioned wanting to go to. However, TOR has the ability to push the value of the trade package up for KD and pressure the Suns to find a way to get Mitchell in the deal.

In other words, Ainge would fleece the Suns in a trade for Mitchell so that the Suns can close the KD deal. We'd want it to reach a point where BRK says, "Get me Donovan Mitchell, or I'm not sending KD."

If we’re taking back Simmons in any sort of three way deal, he better come with extra draft assets. He is not a valuable asset right now and probably won’t ever be worth his contract.

Agreed. Simmons is a spendy negative asset ala Westbrook.

I just am of the opinion that Simmons turns it around at some point. If we could pick up Ayton for Bogdnovic, Gay, and a 1st, and then Simmons and a 2nd for Clarkson and Conley then I would think that would be an interesting team.

Mitchell, Beasley, Vanderbilt, Simmons, Ayton. If Simmons played it would be a crazy fun team to watch.

They might need 3 or 4 teams. Ayton won’t wait forever and can sign an offer sheet with Indiana once the moratorium is lifted and then all the teams are kinda stuck.
If you were Ayton, wouldn't waiting for the Indy offer sheet be your first choice? What incentive does he have to cooperate in any sign & trade?

I generally agree with this, but think there's another play where BRK insists on receiving Donovan in order to send KD to PHX. Then PHX would be on the hook to trade for Donovan in order to get KD. The Jazz would walk away with PHX's draft capital, which could be as valuable as NYK's simply because the CP and KD are old and injury prone, while PHX will be capped out with their three main contracts.

Please no Ayton. Let’s not go from paying one max center to another. We are free, and we got four first round picks for our trouble. Let’s look ahead and modernize this team.
