Yeah I think that’s true to a point. But I also think Kessler is more athletic making his road easier.Exactly. If Whiteside had Walker Kessler IQ he'd still be in the league today is the point I was making.

Mike was fired up tonight. Never seen him like that. I think we were getting no love toward the end from the refs and it pissed him right off.Mike has been fantastic tonight...17 points 8 assists 3 rebounds 2 blocks 5/8 from the floor.
Yeah- lots of game balls to go around. Kessler was obviously fantastic, Lauri pulled it together after a slow start, Mike was making amazing passes, showing lots of emotion and sniping shots. Young Bull had some amazingly athletic moves- loved how he shoved a much bigger player out of the way on a clear out without getting a call against him. Lots of emotion from him- I really, really don't want to trade him now- LOVE his passion for winning. Agbaji closed out the game on the floor and had some nifty plays. Vando did some good things. Clarkson overcame turnover problems to make some important end of game buckets. Gay even played well enough to not make me want to tear my eyes out of their sockets when he was on the court...Mike was fired up tonight. Never seen him like that. Its an interesting contradiction- the desire for 'moneyball' five-out style playing with high volume threes, also dictates that the whole mid-range game goes away in favor of close up shots- which leaves an opening for a traditional big like Kessler to make a large impact when teams try to force the ball inside for close up shots.
I'm curious how quickly Kessler gets the Gobert treatment where they abandon the inside altogether and just settle for mid-range or force him off the court with full five out play. I suspect Kessler is nimble enough that five-out isn't going to force him off the floor.
That's probably because when we play a three big lineup with Kessler under the rim, Lauri & co can be more aggressive contesting midrangers, knowing Walker is there and guys are not really looking to drive.I heard somewhere recently (it wasn't Locke) that When Kessler is on the floor, not only is there a huge drop in opponent's shot percentage at the rim, but that teams are shooting 4%, on average, worse from midrange as well. That generally isn't a thing.
Think there was a lot of **** talking because Lauri also looked fired upMike was fired up tonight. Never seen him like that. I think we were getting no love toward the end from the refs and it pissed him right off.

You're also remembering old Whiteside. Some bigs age in dog years athletically (Derrick Favors, Olynyk are good examples)Yeah I think that’s true to a point. But I also think Kessler is more athletic making his road easier.
