Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Agree. I'm still in between with Colin. I love the energy and the ability to create his own offense but he got a tunnel vision at that stage. Hope he can improve.
I think Collin basically is what he is at this point, tweener guard that's best suited to be in a 6th man, instant offense off the bench type of role.

Brian Windhorst:
If the Raptors are willing to put OG Anunoby on the trade block, I believe conservatively there could be six or seven different teams, a lot of them contenders for the title this year, who are willing to put in a significant offer for him.

Part of this is probably the "best player available" syndrome... but could be that the 3 FRP type of deal will happen.

The Grizzles are reportedly all in for him, I like OG but 3 FRP's for him would be insane.

That was what Knicks supposedly offered (albeit I believe all 3 were protected)... but there is a bidding war between NOP and MEM brewing that Webster and Masai will probably feed as much as they can.

Personally, I wouldn't mind one of those teams giving away a stack of picks to a struggling East team. I think we win if that happens.

How would we win in that scenario? I think Memphis is the best potential landing spot depending on what they're willing to give up. I'd ask for Ziare Williams if I was Toronto.

What? Are you suggesting you wouldnt enjoy the Russ/THT/Robinson/Hart/Dok lineup and those 23 first round picks in the piggy bank?
It’d be Lauri/Kessler/Ochai/Sexton/NAW and we’d have one year of slight pain and add Wemby, Scoot, Miller to that group plus whatever prospects you want to trade for cuz we’d have infinity picks. 1 year of discomfort for 7-8 years of awesomeness… also we never would have had Dok if I was GM and we’d still have our 2024 pick. Just saying.

Scoot Henderson or Amen Thompson would've been nice...

I don’t think we fall that far - no matter how hard we try. The name you’re probably looking for is Jerace Walker - and that’s still good enough for me to want to trade all of the guys that won’t be here two years from now right now.

We're only 4 games out of the 6th lottery slot right now (37% top 4, 9% #1 overall) that's what we should be aiming for.

I agree. Gotta figure that some of those other teams are going to start actively tanking - even if they’ve been told not to. Competition to fall out of the play in is going to be as high as trying to make it in this year.

I’d love to fall to that #6 range if possible. Jazz just need to add as much talent to go with Markkanen, Kessler, Agbaji as they can. I’m hoping Sexton is a part of that group as well. . . but I’d understand if they go a different direction as well.

I like Kessler and Agbaji but we need to find a second star to pair with Lauri if we really want to compete.

The Jazz just need as much top end talent as they can get. And I’d be doing everything I can to take as many swings as possible right now. I’m open for business, and am perfectly willing to trade Conley, Clarkson, Beasley, Gay, Vando and/or Olynyk. I’m not going to give Vando/Beasley away for scraps due to their contract situations. . . but I’d be willing to consider taking less value for the others if needed.

Do the Jazz really need a 2nd star? If the offense is already top 5 with 1 star, is 2nd star necessary?

Of course I'd love to have one, but I don't think you have to jump through hoops to get one. We just need more 2-way type players.
And we're currently a .500 level team. We need a second star to contend for a title, IMO.

This was in response to someone saying thank goodness you aren’t the GM. I would have sold off parts so much earlier. We’d be firmly in the mix for 6/7 spot.

Yes lol… regular season our offense is great. We have guys that are also going to time out in the next year or two. When we jump to being a good playoff team or a contender we absolutely need a second star or like 2 of the biggest superstar in their role types… think Mikal Bridges type dudes.

Clips gotta get a point guard. I think FVV or Conley end up there at the end of next week. FVV might be bigger than their assets allow.
