They showed an interesting stat last night... I can't remember if it was per 48 or what... But Al was #2 in FG attempts trailing only Kobe...

I think this combined with his inability to get a rebound, play defense, or get to the FT line greatly inhibits our team's success.

He has shot only 6 FTs this entire year...

Just to compare, Kanter has shot twice as many...

Millsap 14...

Favors 9...

CJ 15...

Dwight Howard, 45... LOL

Al is the classic guy that might put up 20 points but does so in a way that stagnates the offense and hurts his team. I don't think we'll ever have a winning season with him playing significant minutes for us. His career has been one of putting up numbers while doing nothing to help his team win.

I'm in favor of moving Al at some point this season, so the roster can be re-worked.

Having said that, I don't at all see our offense suddenly turning into a scoring machine. The ball will move around better, but we'll still have to rely on the same shooters. I'd be really curious to see where we'd make up the points lost by not having Al.

I don't think anyone has said that. But the Jazz would be a mile closer to how they played in '03-'04 with him gone, and I'm more interested in that (which isn't to say that they will maximize their talent as much as that team, but that I think the overall ability of the team would rise significantly).

I still think a deal with Boston is something the Jazz should explore with Jefferson. Not going to get Rondo, since the Jazz don't want long term contracts, but Jefferson for O'Neal's corpse, Avery Bradley, Chris Wilcox (salary matchers), the Clippers' pick and Boston's pick, likely to be protected. Gives the Jazz lots of assets to trade. Trade machine says it fails, but it's using 125% when I thought the CBA allows teams to go to 150%.

Maybe O'Conner should just throw up his hands, and trade the entire team for Lebron.
Then we can get threads like "Can the Lebron James experiment please end?"
