2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Honestly, I can’t see Portland getting enough for #3 to make them a contender. They should trade Dame for draft picks spread over the next few years. That might delay their timeline enough that they should liquidate #3 as well. We could give them #9 and the Lakers top 4 protected pick for #3. They could probably get a Donovan type trade package for Dame too. Together that sets their timeline and gives them lots of assets for the future.
Nah if you trade Dame you take Scoot. The have Sharpe Scoot and Simmons... enough of a base with picks to get started for sure.

Here's the strategy for taking Grady: just outshoot every team you play. Go ahead and grab Hawkins if he's at 16, too. **** it.

I'm hoping Dick's poor testing at the combine will cause him to fall. I'm not crazy about taking him at 9, but I would love to get him at 16.

The concern with him appears to be his footspeed and his ability to keep up defensively. The measurements and athletic testing were neutral at best for him.

Here's how I think the draft plays out:

Utah looks to trade up if possible with PDX. If that works w/o sacrificing the core we have now, we're dong it and draft Scoot. Not likely though as PDX would want players now.

Utah drafts best available at 9.hopefully a wing, deals 16 for a lower pick + future 1st ('24?) and drafts a guard with the new pick, and 28 is dealt for some future seconds to replenish stock of the NBA's second-most value trade greaser.
