Statistically, what does Walker do well?
not a lot but that's not uncommon for OADs. but i definitely understand the sentiment. it's the reason i've felt he was overrated most of the season - granted he was being talked about as a top 5 pick by many most of the season. but for many freshmen at power schools, you are looking at things they might be able to do well at the nba level/upside rather than their stats, because college basketball is really hard to put up numbers for freshmen in general.

you could ask your same question about Cam Whitmore, Keyonte George, Anthony Black, GG Jackson, Cason Wallace, Jett Howard, Nick Smith, etc - and have a difficult time coming up with many good answers.

I love Walker Kessler, but there will be times where we want a different matchup/look in the playoffs and go smaller. Jarace is an outstanding frontcourt fit with Lauri. Jarace is a 16 game player who will play 40 minutes a night in the playoffs and have his coach wishing he could play 48.

I really like Jarace overall but in the same way I really like Wallace. Both have super high floors IMO but neither will be go to scorers ever, IMO.

They will both be players every team wants and needs because they do most everything well, outside of being ELITE defensively. I think Jarace will fill a boxscore but rarely lead a team in scoring any given night.

The reality is I think we are in a fantastic spot currently at 9. We should conceivably be in a great position to land a fantastic player that might fall a bit or worst case get a 15 year pro in Cason Wallace.

I think the shot has to work for Walker to be awesome. I think it can but the certainty of Hendricks shot had him above Walker for me. At 9 it’s an easy yes… and hope the shot works.

I think that is also a better trade asset than the other two. I’m sure Indiana takes one of Walker or Henny… Wiz are the biggest pivot/question. magic are super secretive and I could see them doing something weird… it could get wild though and we don’t need to move up at all.

I also think me joining the GG Bandwagon is what brought on the hate. I dont think he was discussed this much until I declared I was in on GG.

If you go by stats, GG looks like a tragic case. If you suffered through watching his games this year and watched him evolve over the past year, he shows All Star potential. That's why he's one of the most polarizing players in the draft.

Rafael Barlowe has him in his top 5. Leif Thulin has him at 7. I still have him at 6 or 7, in the same tier as Jarace Walker.
