2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Let's just for the sake of kicks and giggles say that the Jazz were the ones that promised Bilal or frankly anyone we love from the 12 - 14 range. But 9 is a reach and we can get him at 12.

If we KNOW no one else will grab him would we trade 9 to OKC for 12 and a 2024 draft pick? I am sure we wouldn't want ours back because we can keep it by being in the bottom 10 (pretty much under our control). That would give us 2 picks in next year's draft along with the guy we want and the 16th for whoever falls.

For how expensive 1st round picks are these days, it would be a steal. Feels like an Ainge move. He wanted Tatum. Traded the 1st to drop 3 spots and get who he wanted anyways.

I do wonder if Orlando would be interested in trading us 6/11 for 9/16 and a couple future firsts.

Something like:

9 + 16 + 2025 Timberwolves unprotected 1st + 2027 Lakers top-4 protected 1st for 6 + 11
How's about we keep the 9 and we trade the 16th and a future first for the 11th.

If they really don't want the 6th pick then we could do the 9th and a future first for the 6th OR the 16 and the laker's unprotected for the 6th.

Agreed. Im close to liking it but its a little bit too rich for me. Especially if cam and jarace are both gone at 6
Eh, I get Hendricks or Walker plus one of the top shelf points? I'm pretty happy. I actually think you could use similar assets to get 5 and 10 in separate deals with Detroit and Dallas though, but you would probably need to take back Bertans. Maybe grab a Thompson Twin at 5 and trade back for something + Walker or Hendricks. Some team is going to wildly overvalue the Thompson Twins.

I think Amen could be situationally great… maybe. I also think Ausar could be the better NBA player than Amen. Shot looks workable, he assists at a similar rate despite lower usage, has most of the athleticism, and more accolades. If the cost is reasonable and the situation is conducive to success then I’m down.

Ya but we might get hendricks and a top shelf point without making any moves.

If we are giving up a future wolves/cavs pick AND the lakers pick then i want walker or cam. In my post i said walker and cam might both be gone and we reach to take hendricks who we might have got at 9 and kept 2 future firsts instead of trading them away.

(21:00) CBS Sports’s Gary Parrish reported today that a prospect that “everyone has in the 1st round” had a workout so bad he walked off the court due to how out of shape he was. And was caught smoking a vape pen in the locker room after said workout.

Can't even think who this would be. GG comes to mind immediately because of the combine thing, but is he in everyone's first round?

Listened to it. He said he interviewed poorly too which makes me think it's GG Jackson. Dude really might just be a bonehead.
