2023 NBA Draft “Hot Takes” Thread

The post i was replying to seemed to be indicating we would. Maybe i read it wrong though. I do see at the end he mentioned the hornets.

Who are we trading with to get scoot? What are we giving up?
Portland should honestly just do a small trade with Houston where Houston sends something like Tate and #4 for Portland sends #3 and whatever. Houston takes Scoot and Portland takes Whitmore.

Don't want to be a Dick but in a draft with this much depth and potential you should probably avoid taking Gradey where is projected to go. He is a bit too one dimensional and will be the target of NBA offenses to attack. I dont know if this is a hot take.

I guess I'm still unconvinced by Anthony Black, he is too limited offensively, so he may struggle to stay on an NBA court especially early on in his career. A guy you can see NBA defenses sag off until he can prove he can do a bit more on offense.

Brice Senasbaugh will be a future 6th man off the year and a guy we'll say should have gone earlier.

Hood-Schifino will struggle. Too inconsistent.

Just watched Podziemski highlights for the first time. I know a ton of people here love him. My hot take - he's not an NBA player.

Strangely he feels like a guy that is either a very good player or he's essentially out of the league. If he is athletic enough to hang on defense I could see him as some weirdo mix of Old Man Version Goran Dragic (he's a lefty and I just can't unsee the similarities in some of the scoring) with Luke Kennard and Donte Divencenzo... I would have liked to sneak a non-white guy in that mix but didn't sorry. Or he's Ty Jerome.

I think at 28 he is a worthy pick but wouldn't move up to get him. I think its a fine line for him and he's going to be a double/triple or just a strike out.
