FIBA Stuff

New Zealand is a physical team and their footwork is a bit awkward. Layup landing on the wrong foot, strange turnaround shot.
Just realized they qualified through Asia.. of course they would qualify.. I mean they would be one of the tallest teams in Asia.

I wasn't able to catch the US/NZ game, but apparently Reaves played really well. What a find by the Lakers and an incredible bargain for them over the next few years.

So according to ESPN, the starters all sucked and the game was saved by the bench. Looks like Kerr really knows who to start

The second stringers saved the game. Paolo was great. And then there was poor Walker, with his 1.5 minutes at the end of the game. He altered a couple of shots in that time. I wish he would have made his one shot, because it was a sweet move.

Lots of games to watch in the early morning. At least Lauri and Jordan are at 7am.

Yeah but big part of that was Ant still being the Ant of last season (this being one of his down games). Dribbled the ball off his foot twice, totaled 5 turnovers, 0/3 on 3s and 4/7 on FTs.

I was close to buying his stocks but now I'm having second thoughts seeing he has a game like that against NZ level competition.

Ant is still a product under construction. He is good in defense, got really high offensive power but still far from beeing a good PG for conducting the game. Hopefully he learn this part from Mike. If he can he will be a superstar, if not he will remain as a great player as in Don.
Soon will have France_ Latvia. Will be interesting one. France come from one of the worst team performance ever and Latvia got good shooters.... i will attempt the game and i will look particulary at Rudy perf.

Josh Giddey is way overrated
Yeah he was great vs Finland but right now he is hurting Australia more than helping them.

Mills keeping you in that game singlehandedly and again looking like he can get whatever kind of bucket whenever he wants.

Brazil won pretty handily against Iran (as they should) yesterday, but the hopes to go further than the second group stage took a bad hit as Raul Neto went down with a torn patellar tendon in the fourth quarter, which really sucks (the gruesome injury of course, chances of a deep run in the tournment weren't great before anyways). :(
