The Gordon Hayward Experiment...you know the drill

To put Hayward into the same sentence as Chucker J. Smiles is blasphemy. A good friend of mine said something to me once, and I think it applies to you as well:

Log out of JazzFanz, and then log out of your life.

I'm letting this one go, but by all the Gods, if I see this kind of crap again, I'm going to have to verbally assault you via the rep system.

While I echo most of the sentiments here, if Hayward goes for that final shot, he'd have had his **** stuffed and if Al would've caught the pass then the Jazz win.

Watching the game I thought he was far less aggressive than he should have been. He had a couple chances to get easier shots but instead faded from the basket and missed. He avoided contact like the plague as evidenced by his 0 ft attempts. He also blew a wide open layup when he could have dunked it and missed a 3 when he should have passed to a wide open raja on the baseline, among other things. Overall a poor performance, i'm sure he'll be pissed at himself when he looks at the film. A learning experience for a 2nd year player.

He took it to the wrack once, and got called for a charge. At some point, he has to know that he's not going to get a call, so why bother?

Unfortunately, that was just bad basketball on his part. Fisher had position nice and early and Hayward got aggressive at the wrong time.

I just want to see him do something with a purpose in mind. Everything he does right now looks like he's making **** up as he goes and when it's just about to get good, he panics. He's become the coitus interuptus of basketball execution. Shoot the damn ball, son! Shoot the ball!

Agreed. Last season he would go at the rim and slam it home with 3 guys coming at him, or make a smooth move across he paint for a scoop pass to Sap for the dunk. This year he looks scared to death out there. Not sure what changed, but wow does he need to snap out of it.

Yeah your shot is not falling very well right now. That means you go inside to get some dunks/layups and runners, and keep taking the 3's. I really wonder what has shaken his confidence so badly.

I am happy that at least he is contributing with assists, steals, blocks etc most games, but man is it getting aggravating to watch him play go at things like a junior high schooler so much.

I would still much rather see Hayward in the game than CJ, but that gap is rapidly closing.

he needs a haircut. that long floppy hair is sapping his manhood or something. maybe if he just looked more fearsome he'd play more fearsome?

I love how he catches himself in the air with the ball and no where to pass it. You learn not to do that **** when you're 8. Wake the **** up Gordy Boy.

I have no evidence to back this up (that's never stopped anyone here, right?), but I have to question the kids passion for the game. He looks like he's somewhat 'sulkingly' going through the paces on the floor. Not like he's mad about anything but more that basketball isn't his #1 in life.

Multiple times against Cleveland he did the same thing people are bugged from last night, drove to the rack then kicked it out to a guy who A) shouldn't be shooting from distance or B) had a man right by him and in no way was "open". Sure the assists are great but if you're deathly afraid of shooting the ball and pass up shots at every opportunity, you're bound to get some. I honestly dont think the kid has the fire to reach his potential, based on what I'm seeing now. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm so sick of him being passive and casual about the game. I had high hopes for this kid after the end of last season and then he comes into this season acting like a rookie again.
