Locke floating the potential of trading for Kawhi... in the "big game hunting" version of the 2024 Jazz summer universe.
I think he is doing this to illustrate the futility of those advocating for the “win now” strategy.
 
Yeah, you’re just missing the entire point. It’s the fact that Kawhi is likely one of the least attainable stars at the moment for a multitude of reasons.
I think you are underestimating the chance that the clippers go into a rebuild
 
They will 100% not go into a rebuild since they don't control their own 1st rd picks for the next 5 years.
The Nets don't own any of their own 1sts until 2028 and they went into a full rebuild.

Even if there's no advantage to tanking, if you have no chance at contending you might as well get some value from your stars. Then again, it is the Clippers who just let Paul George walk away for nothing, so who knows.
