I can kind of understand the comment on Flagg being boring for a unanimous #1 pick. He's a little stiff and upright vs the type of player you would expect to be as good as he is. I'm not necessarily agreeing, but I can see where that comment comes from.

THought about putting this in the 2026 draft thread but this player is eligible to be drafted this year. He is out of the French pro league and redshirted at Washington. He just got signed to play at BYU and he actually has some pretty good skills, Dominique Diomande.

Sure there will be. Guys who get to the transfer portal will make a name for themselves with those runs then transfer. Certainly I do agree there will be a lower frequency, but it will still happen.

For example, the first Butler team still definitely happens under NIL. The second team? Maybe not.

biggest issue is that those mid-majors will have a much more difficult time building teams and their window to do something special will be so small. once a guy has a break out season, they are gone. new mexico is an excellent example of those. two years ago they had freshman JT Toppin and sophomore Donovan Dent. Toppin has a good frosh season and bolts to Texas Tech for this past season. UNM keeps Dent. Dent leads them to a first round win, but what could they have done had they kept Toppin? maybe the round of 16? Elite 8. So they get to the second weekend this year, and they still have another go-round with Dent and Toppin, and whoever else they develop during that three year period That happens all over cbb where a guy will break out, but now if they don't get it done in that break out year, the window is closed because that star player is gonzo.

The Hayward team has no shot. hayward averaged 13 and 7 on elite shooting splits his freshman season. Matt Howard another key player on that team, that same season averaged 15 and 7. odds are with the portal and NIL, they are both off to some power conference school and that run never happens.

I have an offensive stylistic comparison for Knueppel. This might be off because it’s been a while, but his offensive game kinda reminds me of early Harden with less explosion and off the dribble ability. I think he’s a sneaky good creator.

I dont really see any Harden at all. If you want a faraway star comp, it would be Devin Booker.

I think the obvious racial comp is Gordon Hayward.

I was looking up stuff about Kon and his younger brother (2nd oldest brother) is a 6'8 sophomore. He isnt ranked yet or anything, but damn, too bad Kon didnt get that height.
