You all might think this is ridiculous, but a significant part of me has a hunch that Ace is tanking his draft stock because he has a promise from a team later than 3 in the lottery.

“I want to go to a team where I can shoot a lot and be the primary guy offensively” is not a statement you say to endear yourself to a team.

What if, contrary to collective wisdom, the team that made the promise is the Jazz?

Ace has to know he’s going top 7. I think the Nets at 8 are a possibility, but that’s a very long slide for him.

The only GMs I think who are ruthless and Machiavellian enough to do this are Morey and Ainge, and Morey could just grab him at 3 - no need for the play.

In Charlotte he wouldn’t be the man. In Utah or Washington, he could be.

To anyone's knowledge, he hasn't had a workout with any team. He had one scheduled for the 76ers a couple of days ago and then promptly cancelled it the day before it was supposed to happen.

If ace is there you take him, I’d take him even if I was choosing between him and Tre and I’m a Tre guy. You just can’t pass on his upside. Also he’s refused everyone’s workout invitation.

And there is no incentive for a rookie to pout and play like **** just because they are somewhere they don't like. If they want to be worth anything in the league after their rookie contract they need to make the most of their minutes, regardless.
