Cody's not the reason the Jazz got rolled. You guys are trolling. The Jazz gave up a 20-0 run in the 3rd quarter. They went from up 84-79 to down 84-99. Cody had maybe 2 touches in that span. Collier melted down and had several TOs and a double-technical. Flip had a few TOs as well. Meanwhile, everyone missed their shots.

The Jazz finished with 28 TOs. OKC finished with 61% FG.

Cody is dog ****. He doesn’t have to be the reason the Jazz are losing for this to be true. The fact the Jazz can lose anyways is a strong argument for sparing our eyes the pain of watching his miserable ***

He's fine on defense. Actually one of our better defenders. He just can't score right now. Hopefully, he figures that out. I'm more optimistic about Cody than I am Taylor right now.

You all are just being really ungrateful. Cody got the Jazz Ace (after they played him heavy minutes in March). Cody will get the Jazz another future star after this season.

When Cody plays <10 minutes the Jazz record is 3-4, when he gets at least 10 minutes they are 2-6.

Being "fine" on defense and one of the worst players in the league at everything else means you suck.

Cody is a huge reason the Jazz got rolled. Easily the #1 reason.

Thoughts:

- Watching SGA takes all the joy out of basketball. The current whistle caters to free throw merchants like him to such an extent that you just expect him to get "fouled" on every single possession, no matter what he does. It's pretty sad since he's so talented.

- Rough game for Lauri (if you can say that when a guy has 19/6/3/2 on good percentages). He was gameplanned into irrelevance. OKC had at least one athletic wing absolutely glued to him at all times, fronting, grabbing, pushing and fouling. That created space elsewhere, but we couldn't make any use of it after the 3pt shots stopped falling. OKC is always one of the toughest matchups for Markkanen, but that's why I would've liked to see him get the ball more in the post against shorter defenders, instead of having to retreat all the way beyond the perimeter to get some breathing room. He had no advantage there. Unfortunately, the post is clogged up because Nurk doesn't scare anyone as an outside threat.

- Never forget there were quite a few people here who liked the Cody Williams pick due to his "pedigree". What BS. The guy sucked in college and he's sucked in the NBA every day since. Personally, I don't want to see him play ever again. It has to stop. His presence on the court is insulting and doesn't bring a single thing to the table. "He just needs strength"? No, he just needs to go away. I don't care if he spends the rest of his career counting all the millions of dollars he stole, just get him out of my sight.

- I hope it's becoming obvious that Flip's final form in the NBA isn't a "hub" but a kind of Lauri-Ultralite, a play finisher who can make some wide open 3's while playing off the bench. He can pass (which is good) but falls in love with the idea of threading the needle way too often. He's a scoring glue guy, which is fine. Flip will have a 15 year career in this league.

- It's bizarre how we just keep allowing open 3's. Overhelping, messing up switches, not closing guys out, not anticipating where the next pass is going to go. Someone should tell Hardy that collapsing the paint all the time isn't a great defensive strategy in today's NBA.

- I like what I'm seeing from Ace lately. Sure he still takes too many long 2's, but he's active, aggressive and really tries on defense (even if his inexperience shows). The way he goes after loose balls and saves possessions that already look lost is extremely encouraging at this stage. I'm not sure he's ever going to be a star in the NBA but it's already obvious that his ceiling is way above any of the other Jazz youngins.

Ace clearly has the physical tools and the natural understanding of the game, which makes his floor being very high. The only thing that will determine if he ends up becoming a star or just a high-level role player is how much of internal drive does Ace have to put in all this work to keep getting better and better.

He needs to seriously work on his ballhandling, as that will be the key to unlock his whole NBA offense. Right now he's only comfortable taking a couple of dribbles and pulling up for a jumper, but even his fast break dribbling is extremely shaky. He has no wiggle or hesitation moves.

Nah, the number one reason was that OKC just put it in another gear. Cody was bad, but he also just happened to play when OKC locked in for the second half. I'll hear out Cody as the number two reason, but that might be masking how bad several others were playing during that stretch.
