Following Potential 2026 Draftees

So anyone wanna join me in the "I'm out on Mikel Brown being a top 10 prspect" -bus? There are plenty of empty seats.

He can beat the average college white stiffs but is simply not explosive enough or strong enough to carry his current playstyle to the NBA. To make matters worse his perimeter shot selection is a big red flag. A guy with his quickness should be able to get better looks.

I was so high on him after the U19s but wow he has fallen off a lot.

It was a pretty stark contrast watching him play VT vs Duke, but nah I wasn't too discouraged. He was still able to break the paint vs Duke, but the main difference between Duke and VT was that Duke had much better bigs to meet him once he got there. In the end he missed a couple layups he normally would make and missed some outside shots he probably should have made. My biggest question is his shooting. I've never loved the aesthetics of his shot. People who followed his high school career talk about him as a great shooter and say to not worry about it though.

Looking at this game logs he's had good and bad games against good and bad competition. I think he's just inconsistent, but also hasn't really played that many games due to injury.

I wasnt impressed with the VT tape, except the finishing through contact side of it which was great. My problem is he had a bunch of white stiffs and some 5'9 dude (#11) guarding him on all his scoring plays. There was one play in particular where his defender took his hips out of position with some horrible footwork and Brown got his legs crossed but somehow still didnt actually blow past him for a clean dunk.

Here is a screenshot referring to the moment. In the NBA this is as clean of a lane as you ever see and I bet #32 aint NBA level 1on1 defender.

I think BYU was down like 17 with 9 minutes left when I turned the game off and started reading my book in bed.
Shocked to see that they only lost by 3 when I checked my phone in the morning.

Look, I'm not going to be the Brown Jr defender on this forum, I've never been his biggest fan and Jazz related don't think he would be a great fit next to Keyonte. That said, you are sounding like an irrational hater. He was extremely good against Virginia Tech and showed great athleticism despite coming back from a back injury. He's also played more than 2 games and has had good games against more athletic teams like Kentucky, Arkansas, and Cincinnati.

I dont approve your use of the word "irrational" when I'm presenting my rationale on a much more detailed level than you are.

I do approve the word hater, albeit I dont actually hate him I just hate him being ranked in top 10. But we will see how the season turns out and whether he stays there.

Detailed doesn't equal rational.
