Some of us care a lot more about content (knowing what you’re talking about at all) than style (nice sound voice nice).
Boler does not deserve the gig. It’s borderline offensive. Dude knows nothing.
Boler has worked as a sports commentator for almost 50 years, starting in college. He worked for so many different companies... Literally dozens of sports broadcasting execs thought that Boler deserves the gig. And who are you who is so wise in the ways of sportscasting?

I didn't say it either. There are so much more in the voice besides being deep or high-pitched. There are literally millions people in America with deep masculine voices - and 99% of them would make terrible sports announcers. Because there is also enunciation...and cadence...and the ability to express things with intonation...and timing, and the ability to give a quick play-by-play, to interview guests and many, many other things. It is a craft, a rare combo of gifts and experience.
And Locke does that all better than Boler....
He can do football all he wants. He knows nothing about basketball which is what we’re talking about here. Which is actually pretty amazing how much he doesn’t give a **** to be doing it this long and still not knowing anything.
