What's new

Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

And Ace isn't the greatest passer either. This roster is shaped for a Joker/Luka/Harden type of takeover. One man runs the show. Just not sure if Key is that man.

Key, Lauri, JJ, Kessler - how much money is that going forward? Can we even afford to give Kessler what he will command? I guess we can always give him the contract and hope we can trade him later if we need to.

Jazzfanz reaction: JJJ sucks, I can't believe the Jazz did this.

Jazzfanz reaction: I hope JJJ doesn't play very much this year because he might cause us to win.

Almost anyone with a pulse would improve this season's roster.

Trouble is, JJJ is that guy with a pulse... and he's paid $50 million next season for it.

Seems like all of the concerns are related to keeping our draft pick and/or not having cap space to pay Kessler.

If the Jazz manage to keep the 2026 pick and retain Kessler, how would people grade this? If that ends up happening it's an A+ to me.
I would like that

So are you leaving today? Do you need some help packing? I can definitely clear my schedule.

I do feel bad for you though. I imagine not having something to constantly bitch about is going to really suck
I feel bad for those people who can't let the tank go, are still clamoring for the tank and telling us this was a horrible trade.

Constantly bitching for the Jazz to suck as much as humanly possible has become some people's whole personality.

Keeping Walker is untenable after this. It just is. When you pay the ultra premium price for a thing you have to start making substitutes elsewhere. Jazz are sitting ducks for an RFA offer that would be insane to match. The market is swimming in caproom this offseason and not a lot to direct it towards after Peyton Watson. Walker is high on that list.

They honestly need to try to trade him now if they can get proper value somewhere. There might be some specific benefits to waiting for the offseason to do a SnT but they are overwhelmed by risks (Walker has to sign off, importantly, the Lakers will actually just have capspace to poach him).

The Walker situation is fraught with pitfalls I just hope the Jazz land on their feet. But I genuinely believe one of the reasons they got JJJ is because the Jazz aren’t locked in on keeping Walker. Losing the asset would be extremely bad.
